(09/23/2011) The seller says the transmission is stuck in neutral, but then says “No Joy Rides”.  It seems the first would preclude the second.

“This is a 1951 M-38 jeep/willys. It is military issued and has all original parts. Motor runs, has small oil leak. trans will not take gear. stuck in neutral.  has new fuel filter, fuel line, fuel pump, new plugs, waterproof push button start to name a few minor things i have done. Today, Jim sent me some pictures of his CJ-5 and a recent trip along the outskirts of Tucson.  Thanks for sharing Jim!

Jim wrote, “A few pictures of me and my wife running around in the Rincon Mountains east of Tucson,AZ. There are a lot of forest service access roads around the area. Some are easy, and quite a few are challenging. Our Willys is mostly stock. The only thing not stock and original is the engine and a Warn overdrive. It is a Ford 289 donated from a totaled Mustang. The rims and tires are from a 74 CJ-5 that I sold a while back. I still have the old rims and tires for it in my garage. There is no lift kit on it. The tires on it now are too big, but we like the look. Just have to be cafefull to keep the fenders off of the rubber LOL!!”

“We have an off road toy that has been in the basement for about the last 9 years in storage. It is a International Scout frame and running gear with a fiberglass Willy’s Jeep body, custom built roll cage, aluminum floor, Chevy 292 small block with 12:1 compression, 4spd trans. It will start and run, but would imagine the Holley carb could stand to be freshen up after the time in storage. We did not build it with the intent to be street legal (no horn, turn signals, headlights, etc. Bill of Sale only, no title.”

“this is a metal roof that converts a cj3b or similar type jeep to a pickup configuration. it would be perfect for a deer lease jeep on those cold rainy mornings it originally was part of my cj3b jeep before i bought it and before a massive roll bar was added and it no longer fit. it has a rudimentary gun rack and a rear window(glass or plexi needs replaced). if you need it, you can buy it for only $60 as is.”

These appear to be dataplates from VINS between 33304 and 44964.  (http://www.cj-2a.com/oldsite/marks/dataplates/survey/index.html) Curiously, the VIN area looks scratched out.
