Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (08/05/2011) It runs and smokes.
“I have an all original VEC CJ2. It’s a very early civilian jeep. It’s serial number 14,0xx. 134 L-head, 3 spd Column shift!, Dana 18 tcase, Dana 41 rearend. Very rare. It runs very well but the engine smokes and probably would need rebuilt. It’s been sitting 20+ years. Needs brakes gone through. 95% complete including seat brackets. Tailgate is missing. Original radio. Mostly rust free and very solid start. Has many dents but all workable metal. Has black plates and out of DMVs system.”

(01/05/2012) This ‘ran when parked’ looks in good shape. It may be worth a look. This might be a CJ-3A.

This WILLYS has a TITLE and all the correct Trim Tags and Plates.
This WILLYS will be a great project for someone that has interest in these vehicles.
The motor is a 1953 Willys motor. It will run, but will need a fuel pump.L”

Bob took this photo and reports, “I shot this today in waynesburg, Ohio. It’s a 1945 GPW that went up for auction. It was good looking from 25 feet but had some bad floor repairs, a bit if painted over rust, wrong motor, wrong seats, etc. went for $4700. There were a lot of little parts to be had also but nothing special.”
