About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: Back on eBay. Colin exchanged emails with the seller and learned this is a very early DJ-3A, as it is the 92nd DJ3A built in late 1955.
This is a nice DJ-3A that was found on the CJ-3B Page.
“Nice clean jeep. No rust… Been in the family scenes the mid 60s . All stock 4cyl rebuilt with only @ 100 miles on it. 3-speed transmission on the column. This Jeep is stock all but tail lights and air cleaner, which I have both to include in sale… 2 Wheel drive…. Great for around town to the post office and back. Hate to let it go must move on…”
“1947 Jeep CJ2A. My son & I were going to build this Jeep, but, decided on a CJ7 instead. We got it running last year, clutch is good, drove it around the yard & gears all work. Frame is very good, body is better than average. We decided on the CJ7 because top speed on the CJ2 is around 40mph. This is a good winter project for someone. $1,300 207 450 6184”
“L-head motor was rebuilt two years ago, Xtreme mud terrain tires and rims were new last year, t-90 3-speed transmission, Warn locking hubs, power steering, 4wd, 2wd,Hi-lo, jeep is 60 years old and runs and drives great!!!…I just don’t have time for it…email with any questions, got an offer? Try me!!!”
The body appears a little rustier than the seller describes. There appears to be value here.
“This is a CJ3A Jeep with a factory made trencher. Jeep is solid and body is good for restore. Has been stored for many years. Will sell for $1500 or may trade for ????”
“1951 Willys CJ-3A 4X4. This Willys has been restored with only 3,844 miles driven since completion about 15 years ago. The paint shows real nice and is Bronze in color. The drive train is a Chevy 350 engine with a HydraMatic TH400 auto transmission. The engine has a Rochester Quadrajet Carb, Edelbrock valve covers, Holley high rise intake manifold, chrome headers with side exhaust. The interior was all new at time of restoration and still looks great with many nice upgrades suck as: custom front bucket seats with seat belts, rear folding bench seat, tilt and telescopic steering column, Pioneer CD played with 4 speakers, Stewart Warner Stage III Gauges RPM MPH Fuel Amperes Oil PSI Water, B&M floor shifter. There is a custom vinyl top and side panels that are removable. Custom front and rear heavy duty bumpers, rear has a hitch. There is a Ramsey REP 8000 winch up front, with control plug ins in the front and rear. The wheels are American Racing Outlaw 15 inch. The tires are Bridgestone Desert Dueler 32X11.50R15. This Willys was originally from California and just brought here to Wisconsin in April of 2011. Overall this is a real nice Willys that runs and drives great. You can go hit the trails or cruise it down the highway. Feel free to ask any questions”
Labeled as a ’46, this has a ford motor and a GPW/MB Body (with a few side patches it seems.
“Up for grabs is this beautiful little 1946 Willy’s Jeep. This is geared extremely low and has had some lovely updating (paint, heavy duty tires, etc). Came from a little farm down near Fresno, and could potentially make a nice light duty little tractor for someone local (or a fun rock-climber recreational vehicle). Runs fine, starts right up every time, breaks and tires are in great shape, but the clutch gave out on us last trip we took, so that needs replacing. This is geared extremely low and maxes out at about 20-25 mph. Beautiful little collector’s piece of history. We bought this for $5K a few years back, but don’t have time, money, or space for it anymore. I think this is one of the old Jeepsters that has a Jeep body and Ford motor (collectible?), but you’ll have to confirm for yourself. Serious inquiries only, and you’ll need to tow it (it’s an easy light weight tow) since the clutch isn’t working. Selling as is. Registration and all paperwork is current, clean title. Email with questions or to come see it.”
(11/13/2010) The body has some dents on the driver’s side. It appears this has gone through some updates, such as a tilt wheel, roll cage, and updates to the suspension (the front appears to have a metal strip that probably helps strengthen it is some way).
“Good working condition,Buick V6 225 engine, Warren over drive, Original 3 speed transmission. Great for hunting and 4 wheeling.”
(04/28/2011) I suspect the reserve on this is pretty high.
