Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I’m not very familiar with these nor do I know how many issues were released, but I assume this style of magazine was discontinued once the Salesbuilder magazines were created in mid-1948.

“1979 Jeep CJ-5 Rock Crawler New BluePoint Engineering high torque 383 SBC crate engine, EFI, Fox shocks (aired down in pics to fit in garage, 10″ taller when aired up), Warn winch, ARB air lockers, Dana 60’s, hydraulic power steering, power brakes, 4 speed, custom built frame, 4 link long arm suspension and cage. Street legal, currently tagged and titled in my name. Only a few hours of idle & cruise time on the build. Still needs a few odds and ends to finish it off.”

“For sale is a 1:43 scale diecast 1946 Willys CJ2A Fire Jeep. The model is labeled Bomberos (Spanish for Firemen), as it is based on service vehicles used in Argentina. Neat model. It is new, still in the original package, having never been opened. The picture is a stock photo, but is exactly like what I have.”

“Rat Rod project”
Here’s the model I mentioned a few days ago. The date still looks to indicate that it was built in 1999. The builder’s name looks more like “Arbets” to me, but I can’t tell for sure.
The workmanship is great. It assembles easily and precisely. It’s a cool jeep. I’ve included the Ogelsby for comparison. Here it is disassembled.

Joe-in-Mesa and his wife Jan like to explore antique stores while exploring towns throughout Arizona. Every once in a while I get a call or text from Joe telling me he found a good deal on a model jeep, which usually ends up costing me money, lol. Thanks for being on the hunt Joe!
This time he spotted three models at the same shop. The Ogelsby was in particularly good condition, so I couldn’t pass that one up. The pink Surrey was another good price. Finally, the Tonka Jeepster Convertible was one I didn’t have, so I told him to throw that in as well.
Listed as a 1946, this could actually be a 3A (or certainly looks like one).

“This is truly a fantastic full body off restoration using most original parts. Very nicely done CJ-2 with good metal all around, in great running condition. Starts easily, strong original 4 cylinder engine,shifts nicely through the gears and the transfer case with lock out hubs is sound. It also has a nice top and sport bar. Not an original color, but attractively finished in a light metallic teal green with good seat upholstery. All glass and rubbers are excellent with 5 brand new tires and 5 clean, bright wheels. This is a turn key vehicle. The only things that need a bit (and I do mean just a bit)of attention are the gas gauge and the carburetor as it leaks a little. Everything else – wipers, lights, speedometer, etc. work fine. No signs of rust, rot or prior collision damage. Bargain priced for quick sale at $12000 or best offer FOB Broken Arrow, Okla.”
