This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE: Looks like the CJ-2A is still available. The estate sale is this weekend, Dec 4/5. Rich checked it out last week; you can see his comment below.

(11/14/2010) Based on the grille, this seems more likely to be a mid to later CJ-2A rather than a 1946. The body appears in good shape.
“Up for auction is a 1946 Willys Jeep CJ2A. 1946 is the first year that civilian Jeeps where built. The Jeep is complete other that missing a windshield. Several pictures have been taken to show the condition. It has solid body and frame. The body does not have rust or Bondo (It has surface rust only). It does have a new gas tank. I have never started the jeep but it will turn over by hand. The radiator and engine are full of antifreeze. This jeep does have a clear title. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. This jeep is pick up only and is located in Alton, Il 62002.”

(10/24/2010) This jeep could use a bath, but appears to be a solid jeep improved for the street and trail. Among the updates are free floating rear hubs, a tilt wheel and a full cage.

Or, a reader from Israel, has been trying to locate more information (especially the model number) about the Compact Willys Truck I have temporarily labeled a Tender. While doing that research, he spotted a brief clip of some Willys Wagons, Trucks and the Kaizer-Ilin plant in Israel (but no Compact Willys Trucks visible).
Look at minute mark 4.22 through 4.43.

This has the dump bed. It runs. It might be a good price.
