Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Needs some assembly …
“1946 Willy’s Jeep, Super Hurricane 6 Cyl. Manual tranny. Seats are newly re upohlstered, have bikini top and roll bar. I have all the parts,runs but needs some assembly. Good condition. I have the title and paperwork. $3500.00,B.O., or trade? Baja Bug or 65 Cadillac 2 door would be cool. I bought it but I’m too tall to fit in it. ”

I wonder if the seller has verification that this was a Hotel DJ.
“It is a 1962 Jeep Willys DJ-3A one of about 2500 made that year. It was originaly a little Island touring truck that the hotels would use to take guest around. Its in good running order, looks ok. It does need a paint job and a little body work. Price is negotiable. I am leaving the Island soon so it needs to sell. attached is a pic of what it could be. right now it is flat black.”

He writes, “this jeep comes with a strong f-head motor, a T-90 tranny and upgraded Dana 20 transfercase. In the rear is an AMC 20 rear axle and in the front is a Dana 30 front axle with disk brakes. Just about everything is new, including a 24,000 btu heater(NEW)very good condition. There’s too much to list. Please contact for more information.”

(09/29/2010) I can’t tell much about it from the pics. It appears pretty stock.
“The jeep is in fairly good condition i cleaned it up a lot with the power washer. Needs a battery and tune up and should start rite up, it was running last time it was parked but was sitting in a shed for a couple years. It still uses a 6v battery. I was in the process of restoration but i just dont have the time and money to do it. Is a great restoration vehicle for someone thats not in tobad of shape. It still has the winch on the vehicle and i have the door pieces and other bars that came with it. I also have the original title for the jeep.”
