About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1947 Willys CJ2A, mostly all stock, 134 ci flat 4 cyl, 3 speed , 4X4, street legal, clear title, registered as antique so no inspection only needs registered every 5 years, starts and runs great, drives nice, new exhaust, new steering stabilizer, new tires- 31×11.5 super swampers on 15×8 black steel wheels, factory tires and rims also included, leaks some oil, body and frame in good shape, brakes need serviced. Speedometer and oil pressure gauges work. Floor has been replaced at some point in the past but parts of the old floor are still connected underneath and could use removing.”
Many readers will remember last May’s explosive expose on the Wally Cohn custom ‘jeep’ built in Germany. Ok, so maybe it wasn’t an explosion heard round the world, but there were a few of us who were interested.
Well, along those lines I found a MB/GPW at Hemmings which had been modified with fenders that brought the Wally Jeep to mind. Here are some pics from the Hemmings Post.
Calling this a replica of a Jeep is a bit of a stretch.
“This 2010 Custom 1/2 Scale Willys Jeep replica has 2005 Polaris ranger 4×4 running gear, powered by a slightly modified 500cc Polaris engine. Two or all wheel drive with differential lock and 4 wheel disc brakes and 245/75 all season radials on 16″ chrome plated aluminum wheels. Will get you there and back, no need to trailer it either because it is equipped with turn signals, horn, rearview mirror, etc. making it completely street legal! It’s great on gas, fun to drive, and a real head turner! New business venture forces sale. Sacrifice for 1/2 of what I have invested.”
“GPW project. Most is there, a later jeep tub was grafted on. Additional GPW tub will be included. The lift was done by a simplle spring over axle. not an original engine but we can look over one that is at the yard for an additional cost. This is the WWII jeep you always wanted, an affordable project. The non original windshield, tow bar and tailgate have pending sales and are not part of this sale. Updated pictures will be changed out if needed. email any questions or to come see it. Ed”

“Great looking jeep., M38 Military all original. all working condition. runs like a champ, Great beach vehicle, good for parades or just cruisin the coast. rebuilt engine in 2005. everything works, including 4 wheel drive, all lights , even the original Black out lights, Has a very rare hand crank siren, summer top is removable and can be stored on jeep. I also have a M100 1951 trailer for sale and many misc parts for jeep. I am willing to consider a trade for a newer Jeep wrangler of same value.”
“1961 Willy’s Jeep/This Jeep has been mildly restored, many new parts “listed Below” running and driving condition.
Original 4 Cylinder Engine, good compression. 3 Speed transmission, working 4 Wheel Drive Hi and Low. Runs cool, will idle good, I have been cruising this around Jax. for a year or so. Cruises 40-45 in 3rd. Chassis was sent to Rustles Military Vehicles for a suspension overhaul. Brakes, Wheel Cylinders, Brake Lines. Ujoints, Tie Rods, 4 Leaf Springs, Shackle Kit, Grease Fittings & Hanger Brackets.
Body was blasted, fixed in a few areas and smoothed out. It is the original body. It has a few bumps and humps, areas that were fixed. The only thing we covered up was the Drop Down Tool Box, under passenger seat. You can buy a replacement box and weld in. We have covered it and sprayed the inside for functionality. Color is an original color scheme. Seats are Marine Plywood and Marine Naugahyde.
Working manual wench on front bumper. Fold Down front Wiendshield. Roll Bar – not pictured. Ready to use Tow Bar – not pictured. I have 10k invested & have receipts on all.
New Parts: Engine; Fuel Pump; New Carb. + Original Carb Rebuilt; Manifold Gasket; Head was rebuilt, Engine has good cylinder pressure 105-110. Starts good, smokes a little, leaks a little puddle Oil after running awhile.
Transmission: Have new throw out bearing. We were going to trade the core in for a rebuilt trans, $600. I have the info for that. Working ok, it is not a race car.

“I have a 1956 Willy’s CJ-6 thats in pretty nice shape. It has the original 4 cylinder engine with a 3 speed with a warn overdrive. It has a few dents and dings but nothing that is a big deal. Its in good shape and has a nice black soft top. The 4 wheel drive works good.”
This is definitely not ALL stock. In particularly, check out the funky way the windshield rotates up. It’s been connected to a bracket that rotates.
“1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A. This Willys is in GREAT condition it does run but does not drive, I was told from the guy I bought it from that the issue was in the transfer case. It has no rust, Mileage is unknown. This Jeep is stock except it has been switched over to 12v battery.”
