Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This posting is for my 1946 jeep willys cj 2a.I bought tihs jeep about 4 years ago as a fun project and never finished it but is almost there.It has a 50s modle cj 3b motor in it and it runs fine.The new things are the wiring harness,steering box,windsheild gaskets minus the glass and gas tank.The rear floor has been replaced with dimond plate and I have fliped the axles to give it a moderate lift about 4 in.This jeep would be perfect for that hunting cabin,offroad,or just to cruise around town in.The brakes are all there but dont work I think they just need to bee hooked up. There are a lot of extra parts that come with the jeep including the original motor and trans.I will deliver within 30 miles for free and .50 a mile after that if need be.This jeep is a project so it is being sold as is no warenty.Feal free to email me any time. ”

“1951 4 wheel drive Willy’s Jeep. Has a 327 V-8 with a high compression Air Research turbo, 2 speed power glide transmission with Teflon bands (built for racing), Also has a 3000 rpm stall converter. I can agree with the seller on at least one point: this jeep is probably not restorable to show quality. However, this looks more like a post WWII CJ rather than a WWII jeep.
“This is a 1942 willys jeep. It was a military service jeep during WWII. It probably is beyond restoring to show quality, but it could be fixed up to run again pretty easily. Very simple machines, but very tough 4×4’s, these things will go. I got this as boot in a trade as is so Im selling it as is. I do know that it doesnt have the original engine, but that it has a later model willys engine in it. They cut a hole in the hood to allow clearance for the new engines carb. IT DOES NOT RUN, BUT I WAS TOLD IT WAS RUNNING WHEN PARKED. I think it needs a starter. I just dragged it up on a trailer and brought it home and trying to sell it. Would be a great parts jeep. Will consider any reasonable offer or trade.”

This doesn’t look in horrible shape, but it also doesn’t look like it has moved in a while. It appears to have a warn, or equivalent, winch on the front of it.

The body on this appears solid. I don’t see any pics of the parts wagon.
