To my surprise, the body fits on there pretty well.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500.
Here are a couple jeeps for sale. The purple CJ appears to have a replacement body.
“ALMOST 2 JEEPS $4500.00: 1946 CJ-2A Licensed and titled with almost a second in additional parts.
I?m finally admitting I don?t have the time to continue with my project so I?m selling both of my Jeep projects.
The first Jeep is licensed and titled; it has an assigned title from the State of Colorado, and is running. The engine smokes a lot (rings) but otherwise runs quite well. This has very good high back buckets and new tires on aftermarket rims. Original 3 Speed with Twin Stick Transfer Case and a Original Warn Overdrive and Manual Hubs. No Top, and the body has quite a bit of rust. The brakes work but should be gone through before it?s driven on the road. It has some gauges and the speedometer but aren’t not hooked up.
The second Jeep is also a 46-2A that is almost complete but has no engine. This one has a rebuilt (Mile High Jeep Rebuilders) Transmission and Twin Stick Transfer Case, original Jeep Seat Frames and a much better body. The floor has been replaced and is on its rolling chassis with original 16? Jeep Wheels. This one also has manual hubs but again no Top. There is no title on this one. Additionally, there are some loose/spare parts, an extra windshield frame and a Good Jeep Rebuilders Manual. Additional photos are available.”
UPDATE: Pics provided. A reader has this for sale.

It’s not a complete jeep.
“jeep is a project and not complete it is missing a grill, and moter . jeep is also in pieces price is fairly firm but bring a trailer and cash and go home w your new jeep.”
This is a bit high for a project and it is very much a project still.
“hey all. we are raising money for my sons special education costs. so up for sale is our 1946 willys jeep. i bought this about 6 years ago, drove it for approx 80 miles, found the traditional floor rust and promptly pulled it into the garage and started stripping it down. long story short, there is now a brand new tub, primered and ready to paint/install, frame has been undercoated, engine and trans/ pto have been pulled/new gasket kits installed/and put back together, new wiring harness and frame brake lines are ready to go in, as well as a lot of other work thats been done. i know ill never get my time out of it, and currently i have over 5800.00 into it, it is an easy project to finish, so if youre interested in this complete original willys, let me know. thanx. dave.”
This looks like a great price on a pretty original M-38.
“Grampa bought this in 1952 and we got it last year. I was going to make a full restoration but that is just not my passion. It has 41,00 original miles with the original 4 cylinder engine that runs perfect. It has the original metal cab enclosure, original seats that are worn out. All else is original except the back seat heater. 3 new tires. Snow plow will be an addition $400 it is electric hydralic it’s whole life was spent in Eastern Wa. Call Only 509 674 8800”
For a jeep with a serial number of 11672, this looks decidedly non VEC ish. It’s certainly not totally stock for that vintage. However, it is a nice looking rebuild.
“1945 Willy’s CJ-2A Civilian Jeep Universal. SN. 11672.This unit is totally stock with the original “Go-Devil” L-Head 4 cylinder 60 HP engine and associated transmission and differentials. The only items that have been upgraded are a full 12V electrical system with battery, starter, alternator, wiring, and all lights and gauges. The windshield wipers have been converted from vacuum to electric for just a bit more dependability. The unit has only recently been completed and even includes a new (only installed and put on twice) Best top and doors. This is an all steel, and, I think, it is all original steel, body. The body was removed from the chasse and all necessary maintenance was performed. The floors are the original and show no signs of rust including the compartment under the passenger seat. Both the underside and the top of the full floor have been stripped down and Rhino Hide coated. The wheels are perfect and carry a new full set of five 600X16 non-directional tread tires. The seats have been redone with the proper upholstery both front and rear. I have had this unit on the highway for a 120 mile round trip at fifty miles per hour and had absolutely no problems.”
I suspect this isn’t a ’41.
