Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1946 Willys CJ2A project for sale. I bought this jeep in New Hampshire last fall from a guy who said this jeep was “Done Right”. Well, my inexperience paired with my enthusiasm for the jeep impaired my vision. When I started sanding the bondo bubbles, I found that the whole back end was gone. I hired a guy to cut it all out and replace everything with 16 gauge steel. Now that everything is metal and this jeep is solid I am looking to sell it to someone who has the skills to finish the project and live the dream. Needs some bondo skimming over the grinded welds and where the new steel meets the old. It needs a radiator bracket fabricated to hold the brand new custom aluminum radiator that I bought for it. It needs a bracket modification to fit the alternator back on since I put a shallow water pump in. then this jeep should be ready to cruise around town and off road. There are other things of course, but you get the idea. It ran and drove when I bought it last fall. It just needs to be put back together.

Lots of work done here. It needs a fuel pump at the very least.
“1949 Jeep CJ3B 305 TPI TH400 Ford 9″ Rear with Detroit Locker, Dana 44 Front, 4.56 Gears, Disc Brakes up front, power steering, power brakes, vehicle is stretched on a CJ5 frame, vehicle is a project and needs some work, currently needs a fuel pump to get running. I currently have the fenders off. Currently registered non-op, registration is current.”

(05/05/09) The body looks a little rough, but it runs. It looks like a good price.
“1950 CJ3A, about 62K original miles, factory drivetrain, 4 cylinder flat-head, newer solex carburetor, rebuilt transmission and transfer case, new brakes, new tires, hasn’t left town for 30 years. Runs excellent, needs top.”

There is plenty of value for the price if you are near this. This appears to have some old dualamatic hubs as well.
“1960 CJ5. Tub is in decent shape but needs floor. Hood and grill are straight. Fenders are ok but need work. It has transmission, transfer case, front axle,frame,and springs.
