This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1947 JEEP WILLYS CJ2 49K oringinal miles. My father and I bought this Jeep locally in the hopes of bringing it back to life. We have both been too busy to work on it which is the reason we’re selling it. As most of you know, these are extremely hard to find collector Jeeps. It is in pretty good condition in comparison to a lot of other Willys I’ve seen for sale. The flat-head four cylinder is out of it right now however can easily be put back in. The windshield frame is from the military version and is very rare. We are willing to deliver for the price of mileage. (03/27/2010) Check out the unusual updates on this. For example, note the welded tailgate at an angle.
“1949 Willys Jeep. $3,000 or best offer! 12 Volt System. 4 Cylinders. 4×4. The Jeep needs a little work. It ran two years ago, I did not try to start it.”
This truck was headed towards a crusher until Carl saved it. He’s not sure what he’s going to do with it, but he felt there was too much value to have it crushed. Note the custom wheel creation.
“Here are the pictures of the 55 Willys as I found it in a scrape metal collectors yard, it has its original running Super Hurricane engine 4 wheel drive components, head lights, park lights and dash all in tack, 20″ wheels were welded to the original 16’s and it spent the last few years hauling fire wood in rural Newfoundland. It had been abandoned and was set to go to the crusher when I found it and hauled it home. Not sure at this point what I will do with it, it’s safe for now.”
Leave it to Popular Science Magazine to publish a brief reference about using a Jeep to mix cement. This article (or retro-article) was issued in the Feb 1974 edition.
Dan spotted these (truth be told, Dan has spotted a number of deals tonight!) I believe these are 8″ wide hurricane rims; these have the same number of fins as my wheels.
“I have a set of four Modern aluminum wheels. They came with my Jeep CJ5 when I bought it last summer, and I wanted to go back to some stock steelies. They measure 15×8 with a 5×5.5 bolt pattern and 3.75″ backspacing. Comes with all 20 lugnuts and two center caps (have locking hubs on the front and PO didn’t have the other two anymore). They’re in good shape, maybe a little dusty, but no cracks/dings/dents, blah blah blah. All of them hold air perfectly, in fact I replaced all the valve cores about a week ago. I have 31×10.50s with stock springs (with 40 years of sag) and had no rubbing issues for what that’s worth.”
