About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Not bad for a running CJ-5 that includes an overdrive. At least, I’m assuming it still runs?
“1957 Jeep Willys CJ-5. 4×4, hurricane 4 cylinder, warn overdrive, good tires, new brakes. Hasn’t been on the road in a while. We used it for a farm and hunting rig. $2,300”
(03/30/2010) Based on these pics I’d say the body on this is less than ok.
“1952 jeep willys cj3a. Seems to have all the original parts. Ran when i parked it three years ago. Body is ok considering the age. must sell so make an offer. i don’t check my email so call 859 583 1369”
“A Cool 1951 Willys Wagon. It is a two wheel drive. The engine is a fuel injected Vortec V6 backed up by a 5 speed manual with about 45,000 miles on them. Just installed this summer is a heavy duty mustang II independent front suspension with tubular a arms power disk brakes and rack and pinion POWER steering. New shocks all around, just tuned up and oil change, does have a collectors license. Wipers, lights all work turn signals installed, high-back bucket seats in front, foldaway bench in back with 5 seat belts installed. guages work. Gets about 24 mpg and good power. cruses at 75 with no problems. get in and drive it. you don’t have to mess with mechanicals. ”
“1951 CJ3A Willys Jeep. The Good: Complete, mostly original, flat-four. Also includes full 6-point cage, new tires, new shocks, new gas tank and lines, and new brake lines. The Issues: It has been sitting for a while and was in the middle of a 12-volt conversion that was never finished (no generator or alternator currently) when I bought it, wiring needs attention, turns over and starts, has a couple rust-out spots under the rear tail lights, quater size hole under the drivers seat in the pan, and rust in the rigger body braces under the body near the frame (where the wood was located). No pink slip.
I bought it as a project and have not had the time to finish it. It had been sitting for a while prior to me buying it… I massaged the cylinders with some Marvel oil, added some fresh gas to the carb and it cranked over and it tried to run. Sputtered, puttered, but ran. Since then, I have replaced all the gas lines, cleaned the new tank (it had old gas in it), added two inline filters, new plugs, new wires, and there it sat. Thus, I know it’s not frozen and only needs minor tweaking to run.”
Here’s a pretty good looking project. It appears some good work has already been done.
“47 CJ2A needs to be assembled. 1.Frame needs brake cylinder kits installed. Have kits. 2 Body has section in tool box under passenger seat that needs patched otherwise it needs small dings fixed. Its in very good condition. 3. Has good windshield and grille and fenders and tailgate. Just need to be bolted on. 4. Engine was supposed to be rebuilt. I put new gaskets in it but ran into problems when I tried to put the oil pump in. It ruined the gears on the pump but have a pump that gears can be taken off of. Not sure what is the problem there. May need a new cam or just a better gear?. Flywheel has been turned and ready to install. Have 16″ rims with old tires for it, but the 15″ tires for pushing it around go with it. Have a steering wheel but needs to be epoxyed. I have too many projects right now so I decided to sell it, but will keep it if I can’t get what I have into it out of it. Body and parts are really nice condtion.”
