Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I ran across this ad for brand new corner diamond plating. The seller is charging $58 for the pair, plus shipping. My initial search suggests this is a great price.

These are great for Dressing up your Jeep and protecting it at the same time. They are also great for covering body damage or rust. The corners are pre-bent so they will go on nice & easy with the supplied self-tapping stainless steel screws to fasten the corner guards to your Jeep ….”

UPDATE: SOLD on eBay for $2500 just a few hours after it was listed. This was also listed at $2500 on Craigslist originally, but to my surprise didn’t sell.
This looks in great shape. It still looks like a pretty good price given the condition.
“1950 Willy’s Jeep CJ3A, it has been garage kept in Santa Fe New Mexico for the last several years. The last time the Jeep was registered for the street was 1994. I would recommend a tune up and have the carburetor re-built or cleaned, fluids have been changed, engine oil and anti-freeze, the gas tank was drained and new fuel put in. The Jeep has been converted to a 12-volt system and still uses a generator. There is an electric wiper on the driver’s side and a manual wiper on the passenger’s side. It has locking hubs and they work fine. The engine is not the original, and does leak some oil, probably from sitting and not being run for the past few years. The transmission shifts fine and does not pop out of second gear at all; the transfer case also shifts with no problems. …..
