Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This looks like a great price on a Bantam Trailer. I’ve seen them priced much higher.
“These are highly collectible. This is an excellent little Trailer. Length is 6 ft. It tows nicely. I believe this to be a Bantam TC-3 (civilian). These are commonly called Jeep trailers. It has a clear Title. It works great as a Utility Trailer or pull it behind your Jeep for Jeeping.

(09/21/09) Here’s a rare FJ3.
“For sale RARE 1961 FJ3 fleet van. The Fleetvan was produced first as the FJ-3 right-hand-drive postal delivery vehicle. Somewhat shorter than the FJ-3A, the FJ-3 was only 135 inches long but was rated for the same 1000 pound payload. It’s identifiable by its horizontal grille slots (left), as well as its overall length and RHD. Jeep has no title but can give bill of sale it will need to go through the 3 year temp. Jeep does not run and doesn’t turn over anymore and appears to be complete except for the front bumper. $1,200 obo. possible part trade. serious inquires please.”

It looks like an early 50s CJ-3A to me …

$7500 …OR best offer. Set up for back country exploring, but highway legal. 4 cyl. 153 cubic in. GM engine (postal engine?), 4 speed with overdrive. Manuals and receipts going back 20 years. This was the original owner’s labor of love for many years, and used primarily for Jeep Jamborees and hunting in the mountains of Colorado and California. We also have the full doors , the back seat bench and some small spare parts. Many custom parts i.e.; front and rear racks, roll bar, winch, tow bar, air locker pump, dual batteries, radio/cassette player, Bose speakers, CB, new leaf springs, etc. etc. Must see to appreciate. Excellent running. Ready to play. Mechanically very sound. Solid body, no apparent rust. More photos available. Please e-mail me with any questions.”
I’m thinking the rolling chassis on the right is a CJ-2A? I’m less sure of the jeep on the left is a VEC or a mix & match.

Hey, this looks very nice for only $1500. This assumes “needs a little work” really means little work.
“1963 Willys CJ-5 F-Head 4-cyl.; replaced exhust to specs., fuel tank,some odds & end stuff. the floor pans have some sheet metal patches from the previouse owner. needs a little work.seats are not stock.and could use body bushings. frame is ok. I had this insp. a few years ago, then used it on my farm. Good easy restoration project. not a highway runner. serious buyers only…..NO Tire Kickers….

UPDATE: Price dropped to $1900 without the Hardtop or $2200 with it. The seller has included the serial number, in the previous AD — #36930. The engine is seized, but it includes an extra engine.
“I am reposting my CJ2A to see if by chance if there is anyone interested. It is a complete all orignall 46 CJ2A with a hard top. I will sell the 2A less the hard top as I have a buyer for the hard top, but will not let the hard top go until the 2A has a home. The brand on the hard top is Carson Car Craft (built in Oklahoma City). I have an extra engine as the engine in the 2A is locked up. The extra engine is not locked and is rebuildable. I also have all 5 orignal wheels that will also go with the 2A. I have a extra pair of front fenders as part of the deal. I had been asking $2500.00 for the 2A with the hard top, but at this point I would take $2200.00 for the 2A with the hard top or just the 2A less the hard top for $1900.00!! “Selling my willy’s Jeep – GREAT HUNTING RIG! Tow bar mounted to new front bumper assembly. Very good condition, would not take much to finish a complete restoration. Have clean title on hand. New upholstery and very clean throughout. This jeep has 90% of its original parts, original engine converted to 12 volt. Runs good, smokes a little. All running gear works good, the T-90 transmission DOES NOT slip out of second gear which is common for these jeeps. Very little rust for its age. Steps still will hold weight. No holes in floor boards. Great jeep to drive now or to continue to restore. All lights work including dash lights. INCLUDED: another full complete engine and another long-block to use as a core as well, 2 extra fenders, 1 extra hood, another windshield assembly and 4 more tires/rims.”
