About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Navy tribute build. It looks like a neat rig. Looks like it would do well in local celebrations and would be a neat feature at local shows. Not for the 100pt original club, but I think its well done overall and looks like they did a good job on the build.
Information from seller:
Selling for the family of a deceased friend. Perfect condition. Done as a tribute to Navy SeeBees to honor his father. Everything has been rebuilt from the ground up. Hand made 40 cal Replica with turret. Comes with numerous period correct accessories . [hidden information] nine seven 3 4 zero five zero zero 1 4
Now this is cool if it’s legit and I hope that it is. CJ-6, good price looks solid in most areas, has that 0-9 transition period speedo which I like, its beyond rough looking but still a cool piece.
Anyone else catch that post about this style speedo that was stolen from a USPS shipment and it was found on eBay, they are just too unique to have a near perfect one out there they really stand out amongst the crowd IMO. As far as some super rare unobtanium deal, NO, and my opinion is one of rare does not equal valuable. If anything rare stuff is a liability at times.
OK back to this rig, I could use this for a project…. But you are always better to buy the best example you can afford. It’s cool mostly due to the price point and you can do some basic clean up and probably have a nice safe, running, and driving project for under $10k. Line-X or anything can be tricky if put over rust, I doubt its physically Line-X because that stuff is the real deal. Hopefully its just the FLAPS rubber in a can that peels right off.
The half cab is also a cool feature.
Information from seller:
1958 Willys jeep CJ6. This is a CJ6, which is about 2 foot longer wheel base than a CJ5. It has a painless wiring harness and converted to 12 volt system. I have a new steel gas tank as well for it. I was going to use it for hunting but lost interest. Also has Line X throughout interior. It currently doesn’t run but ran when parked. Needs new brake cylinders and fuel line
Seems high for the condition on this one, but the local market might be a bit different then other areas. But has an OD and PTO Winch, I don’t think they are overselling the condition and once you are there in person that’s a whole big part of being a serious buyer vs just low balling an offer, look at the fine details of the rig, crawl under it, but it needs brakes so chock those wheels! Be safe out there.
Information from seller:
1957 CJ 6 Jeep Condition fair runs, needs brakes 3 speed with overdrive Braden PTO Winch
All for $250. Or : $10 cj5 soft doors $150 Holley Carburetor that the same as a YF. $50 YF carburetor $20 each 15×8 wheels – 5 total $100 Willy’s Truck D25 Warn auto hubs $10 Willy’s 2A dashboard $50 Willy’s rear Frame replacement bumper Rear you see Make Offer.
This could be a good opportunity for someone to get in the mix and follow your passion for Jeep Willys. (I don’t have any background on this ad, for example is it $7k for everything listed?)
Information from seller:
We’ve moved to a new location, and we’re phasing out the CJ5 restoration business. Here’s a great opportunity to expand or start a restoration business for Jeeps. Included are 4+ CJ5s, a roller M38, several 225 V6 engines, an inline 6, 138 F-head, crates of parts, pallets of axles, xfer/trans etc. Plus another location of parts not pictured! Come out and have a look. We’re doing early car restoration and simply don’t have the room to continue with the jeeps. Please include your phone number, that’ll show that you have actual interest. Hopefully that will weed out the “is this still available” crowd and show that you actually read the ad. Thanks Dave
M-151 Project, has a bunch of stuff with this, but it is a project for sure.
