1972 Jeep Commando $3,500 Traverse City, MI

#notawillys, lots of rust to be expected, this is outside our normal range, but I thought it was cool looking with the plow and 304 it must have been a neat ride. My guess is they will need a passenger often with how far that radio is over to the right. No clue why they shifted to like a Ford looking grill in these years. Someone who is bored should re-pop a Jeep looking grill for these. Re-imagine the front a bit, AI can do that keep it busy,

Hough HA Pay Loader $1,800 Mercer, PA

#notawillys OK last one of the Not a Willys, but its amazing things that pop up, I feel this had to have a very specific use like some of the Willys implements. Should be a Waukesha FC engine. Small platform, they are pretty popular doing some quick search. Will stick to the Willys but if I had 100AC this would probably have a home to help move old iron around the yard. I do need a small forklift to get engines and parts to the second floor, this wont work for that.

Information from seller:

Hough HA pay loader. Has forks and the bucket. I put newer tires and new tubes on the front. Replaced the brake master cylinder. Replaced the gas valve. Runs well. Does have a power steering cylinder leak and possibly a hydraulic line leak.

1964 Jeep $2,500 Mokena, IL

I removed the full link to this one, only because I don’t like the fromat of the profile, its not super new but only has a few random friends looks like a duplicate of someone’s profile. But I never know.

What intrigqued me was they called this a Tuxedo Park Mark IV, but I really don’t know, I thought the speedo would have the chrome looking accent bezel, and some other stuff. But it has that radio set up.

It’s a column shift F-134, windshield folded down, says one owner.

Either way take a look and comment if you know what we have here.…..

Maybe it’s a real post not sure. Better safe then sorry.

Information from seller:

Original owner barn find, 4 cylinder project that needs work (brake lines), plow works, runs and starts, 4-wheel drive, original title, all original. $2,500 OBO

And here is the AI Overview…..

AI Overview

The image features a vintage Willys CJ-5 Jeep that appears to be a project vehicle.

  • The vehicle has a rounded hood and fenders, characteristic of the CJ-5 and M38A1 models.
  • It is in a rusty, weathered condition, suggesting it has been left to rot for some time.
  • A yellow snowplow attachment is visible at the front of the vehicle.
  • The hood is open, revealing the engine bay.
  • Some models of this era came with a “Dauntless” V6 engine, which was known for its ruggedness.

1945 Willys Jeep CJ-2A $2,000 Knoxville, TN

So obviously I’m not on board with the 1945, my guess is 1946. Being VEC no clue but I know some of you folks following along can look this over. The three hole mounting for the Ignition Switch is typically earlier for sure. The patina under the hood does not appear to be exactly from 1985, for $2k its not really worth figuring out the minor details, you never know maybe they tried to get this going recently or even 3 years ago and just could not.

At the end of this I’m going to toss in some background on the tires!

The tire pic is way cool, they are very old. The name is even older which thoroughly amazed me. The “Dayton Thorobred” like the horse but not spelled like the horse. What I was able to find was around September of 1917 Dayton Tire and Rubber Co. developed and tested the Dayton Thoroughbred, jump down for some more info…….

Tires What’s In a Name….

Here is an ad from 1-6-1918 that notes the 4 months ago they do so….. Guess Sept 1917, they note Red Stripe side walls, in 1917, that’s pretty cool! If anyone has a red stripe 1917 Dayton Thoroughbred would love to see that. Have a spare will gladly display at the building even if its in way bad shape.

January 1918

Did not take long for them to increase the price! May 1918, but in this one the name is shortened to that Thorobred deal Typo? Not a clue but it for sure is named T H O R O B R E D in the shorten version later on….. must have been a name conflict is one guess I have.

May 1918

March 1919 Same Tread Pattern as the early Jan, 1918

Step up to 1923….. Name is still the Thorobred.

Jump to 1951, I did not really find the tread patten of the Jeep. But the name is still going.

1960 you can see those Dayton Thorobred Prem they kind of have the look of what’s on the rig.

I enjoyed the tire rabbit hole, it did eat into a lot of my Willys time for today, you will have these things.

Anything you notice on the CJ-2A let me know. I think it’s an 46, not necessarily VEC differently missing a lot from the VEC class in general if it happens to be close to one

Still listed posted 7 Weeks Ago may not be available, rusty but I like the patina and looks like a neat project.

Nicely done AstroTurf and coil overs, some neat touches in the interior, this looks to have been enjoyed by the previous owners.

NOVEMBER 2025 UPDATE

• CATEGORIES: Features, News This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

NOVEMBER 2025 UPDATE

Well having some internet issues this AM. Back in the day I called it “Downloading the Dinosaurs”, maybe that’s was an AOL reference, I forget but not my invention it was some ad or something that someone was sitting around waiting on the Internet to download stuff.

So welcome to November 2025, more than half way through already! It’s been a crazy few months for us but I think a very productive month. We are closing down 10k sq feet and moving in to 24k sq ft at work, so that’s been super challenging to sort through a few decades of materials and equipment pretty much everything is in boxes or storage, dumpsters, trailers, box trucks. Just chaos all around for the past 3 months.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, lots to be Thankful for always a good time of year, I hope everyone gets some downtime over the holiday season.

Maybe I can preload some content to hold you over for a few days.

Happy Posting

On the eWillys front this is just about post #968 for me since late last year. Back when I started helping it literally would take 20 minutes a post at times due to either issues on my end, or connection delays. But overall days like to day where the actual internet is lagging, we really are running on a World Class back end with NetFire and they really are a huge reason for how we are here. When I took a shot at this one of my main concerns was hosting, I knew I had their support and they really put a lot of work into the site with multiple developers helping along the way.

If you are in need of a solution to a technology something from MSP to Website, or looking to get your app developed please check them out, you can email me as well post@ewillys.com and I can put you in contact with someone over there as well or answer any questions I can.

eWillys on YouTube

Started a YouTube channel for eWillys on Nov 4th, the intent there was to be able to post small shorts for people to get some more visibility to their for sale ads.

It’s a huge platform, definitely does not work the way I thought it was going to work. But the reach when “they” want to promote your content adds 1k to 2k additional views. But is all Algorithm controlled, I have played around with some of our photos and grabbed a few of each type, then overlay a song. For dedicate For Sale ads they don’t get any views and are hidden away by the Algorithm. I guess with a Subscriber base that would be something that people are looking at. First will work on the actual content and go from there.

You can’t really link back to the site that has been disabled for a few years, so I try to add in some description and people will just have to search out eWillys.

In 15 days the small videos got 12.2k views and 36.6 hours of watch time across 13 shorts and one video. The watch time to me is amazing, but I don’t know if this will net anything, the time to make one is very minimal maybe 3 minutes to make one. So not a big ask of time. Will work on it.

To monetize this is very hard you need many subscribers and watch hours. “Shorts” forget it you need 3 million views over 90 days and 500 subscribers, that is not my goal for the site or that, was hoping to get some sort of additional view for folks to sell their rigs, +100 targeted views on an ad is pretty huge to a seller. That’s what eWillys provides a few hundred views on the ad and then it pretty much gone to the bottom. I think we grab a few thousand but how targeted are those I figure a fraction of those.

Overall with each and every ad I don’t have any skin in the game here on this. The google ad sense does very well when enabled and I really dialed in those at the time when they shut me down for who knows what reason, so that is an option , but they just clog up the site with click bait and links it makes great revenue but I still have them turned off for now.

Feel free to check out and if you like it Subscribe to the channel for more eWillys content.

Thanks to everyone for checking out eWillys! Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks, Tim
