About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This video focuses on Lord Mountbatten and a visit to see troops (in India or Burma?). there are several clips of him traveling by jeep.
This closeup of the windshield appears at the 1:23 Mark.
“A jeep drives across bridge and into an army camp. Lord Louis Mountbatten inspecting troops lined up in the open – British and Indian, some black men seen. Lord Mountbatten addressing the gathered troops. Various shots of Lord Mountbatten walking around the camp talking to the men. A man on stretcher is carried towards a plane.”
“1945 Willys Jeep – This jeep has been in the family since 1969 and is ready for its next owner. This jeep has been garage kept and rebuilt many times over the years. Here is how it sits today.
1945 body
1952 frame (more heavy duty than the 1945 frame)
Chevy 350 (out of ’72 Camaro I believe) only a few thousand miles on it since rebuild
Edelbrock carb
Edelbrock intake manifold
HEI distributor
Custom headers
B&M hydromatic 4 speed transmission (slant pan), automatic that can shift like a stick but with no clutch
(07/29/2020) It doesn’t appear this has been used.
“This is a somewhat slightly stretched imitation of a CJ3-A body in stainless steel. I say CJ3A because it is flat fender and low flat hood with a one piece windshield, but no vent. I looks to me like it would fit best on a CJ-7 frame.
There is NO title of any kind, there is no VIN, never has been.
There is a tub with half doors, fenders, hood, windshield frame, door handles, a “for looks only” roll bar, rear bumper things, all stainless steel, and black vinyl top with hardware. The grill in the picture is a normal CJ2-A grill and in very good shape, but not stainless steel. There is a stainless steel grill but it is an insult to jeep and whoever made the rest of the body components.
I talked with a man that told me a Texas company imported, from the Philippines, nine of these bodies sometime around 2010 and used three of them , for what he had no idea. He bought the remaining six. He resold them, He thinks that this is one of the six he resold.
The dimensions in the drawing are as close as I can get.
“58 Willys jeep cj6, full restoration into hot rod. chevy 327 v8 with camel hump heads, power steering and brakes with tilt column, t-15 3 speed with dana 20 transfer case, 4×4 works excellent, center diff 44 in rear and 30 in front”
The seller indicates this is a former fire brush or pumper jeep.
“1964 CJ6 Starts, Drives, stops. Practically rust free. Govt nomenclature tag, and former fire pumper. Includes, winch, and new Walcks front bumper and rivets. All sheet metal and bolts included. New exhaust manifold and exhaust system replaced.
Will need attention to: Hood, fenders and possibly a trans/transfer rebuild, gas tank needs cleaning.
Basically brought this home and secondary to exhaust repair it sat.
Super clean body for a Cj6 minus the fenders and hood. Clean AZ title”
