Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Here are a couple 1960s photos of the Shriner Mini Jeep Patrols. These jeep patrols and shiners in all kinds of mini-vehicles still ply the parade routes (This Facebook group includes modern photos and videos of them).
This first photo is from May 12, 1963, and published in the Marshall News Messenger (Marshall, Texas):

“1966 Press Photo Shriners Ride in Jeep Parade 1960s Downtown Seattle Washington”
This somewhat silly movie included numerous jeeps and other war-time transport. It looks like the Sierras were substituted for Northwestern Canada. Perhaps the funniest part of the movie begins at 21:36 as a jeep rolls up behind a guy in a parka (a scene that looks fake). For some reason, two soldiers have climbed a Matterhorn-looking spire. One guy starts to fall, so the other uses a rope with a loop to keep him from falling. Then, somehow, the guy up top then climbs down on the same rope, but how does the top of the rope connect to anything?

This Shriner’s jeep has a Willys MA look to it, though the seller presents no evidence that this was a Shriner’s jeep, it’s the right size for one.
“Up for sale Shriner parade kart, go kart. This is a extremely rare Shriner kart. The only other one that I know of is in a museum in South Dakota. I be leave this Willys Jeep is from the early 1950s. The Jeep is mostly original with the exception of newer tires, rims, upholstery, paint, carpet, and engine. The engine has never had gas or oil in it. Everything appears to be in working order.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $300.
Blaine spotted an unusual toy on Craigslist. Anyone recognize this wooden jeep? It seems to be missing the steering wheel and a windshield. It’s probably a one-off, but figured I’d check.

“For sale is my dads 1948 willys. New best top and we have the original hard top that came on it as well. Front PTO winch. Still 6 volt but have swapped generator for a 6volt alternator. Also brand new fuel tank from Kaiser/Willys. Has had a lot of restoration done to it. Clean and clear Arkansas title.”

“may be a 1948 ???? no title willys cj2a with the jeep a treach as you can see it is off of it seems complete it will run i reringed with new pistons also it due to # 4 piston being stuck . the engine at one time was rebuilt the piston were 0.30 over rod bearing were 0.40 over had it running needs a carb kit points fuel pump , its still on 6 volt system has a little brakes , tires hold air crackes in tires not road worthy , HAS no title guy i got it from didnt get one when he bought it over 5 years ago 4000.00 loc near scottsbluff Nebraska”

“1946 Willys CJ2A Flat fender motor has been swapped out to a V-6 has manual transmission twin stick transfer case warren overdrive behind that runs and drives will need a tuneup and brake work before driving on the highway Overall body condition is good will need windshield frame replaced due to rust would make a great project for somebody been stored indoors in our shop since I’ve had it lost interest in it”
