This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Posting for a friend. He’s selling his Rare 1974 jeep CJ 6. It has the 258 inline 6 that runs like a top. 3spd manual. Has dana 30 front axles and Dana 44 in the rear with limit slip. It is in very restore able shape or to be customized. Has 85584 original miles on it. New fuel tank and fairly new tires mounted on the orignal wheels radiator was replaced about a year ago. New windshield also. He’s asking 10k.”

Seller wants these projects gone. The Koenig hardtop on the 3B looks restorable. The 3A body appears to be sitting on a later model CJ chassis.

UPDATE: Here’s an example of a Windsor, Canada, data plate, one of the CJ-5s that was imported from Canada to keep up with sales demand in the US.

On August 21, 1959, the first Canadian-built jeep, a CJ-5, rolled out of the assembly plant in Windsor, Canada. Below are two articles and one advertisement that celebrates the acheivement.
This first article appeared August 22, 1959, in the Windsor Star and shows the actual first CJ-5.
This second article appeared September 19, 1959, in the National Post our to Torono, Ontario, Canada, and shows the actual Windsor Plant.
This third item is an advertisement that appeared in the August 25, 1959, issue of The Province, a Vancouver newspaper.
Nate spotted this article in the 1st Responder Newspaper about the Kennebunk Fire Department’s 1947 CJ-2A, which is still in service.

UPDATE: In the comments section you’ll see a reference to another, similar Command Car on eBay. Yet, there are differences between the two. I’m not sure what’s going on with these.
Roger Martin spotted this hand built Command Car model. It is 15″ long, so it’s a good size. I told Roger that I’d buy it, but it’s not a good use of my budget.

Blaine spotted this FC-170 that’s being auctioned on Bring-A-Trailer.
“This 1961 Jeep FC170 is a running cab-over pickup project finished in yellow over multi-tone cloth upholstery and powered by a 226ci ‘Super Hurricane’ inline-six paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Equipment includes towing mirrors, a 108″ bed, steel 16″ wheels, and an AM/FM radio. The truck spent time in Georgia and Florida before it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2018, and servicing conducted in preparation for the sale is said to have included replacement of the transmission. This Jeep Forward Control is now offered at no reserve in Indiana with a clean Florida title.”

“I have a Jeep Kaiser m715 military truck for sale. This truck was later used by the fire department and has had a V8 Chevrolet small-block installed in it otherwise the drivetrain is original. It runs and drives will I drive it around my neighborhood and use it on some property that I have. I have a 20000 pound electric superwinch on the front when the winch was new it retailed for around $4,500.”
