Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Maury shared this eBay ad. The price is $65, but the seller will consider offers. The “Jeep Means Business is from 1954”, the “Public Service” is from 1955, as is the “Completely New” CJ-5 brochure. The DJ-3A brochure is from 1956.

“1947 Jeep Willys. Runs and drives. Original online 4 cylinder with 3 speed and 4wd. The original color was red so I think it might have been issued to a fire department. It’s like an old Harley, it will leave its mark in your driveway. It’s been coverted to 12v.”

“1942 Willys MB Jeep built 1/8/1942. The serial # is 110515, frame # 110515, engine # MB595247. This Jeep was restored 18 years ago and driven 20 miles since. The Jeep has the original metal and Tub with some rust in the forward hat channel and a dent behind the passengers seat (see photos). The engine starts easily and runs very well, the transmission works as it should. The transfer case works correctly but is dripping some oil. All gauges work except the fuel gauge. The tires are as new and the brakes are very good. All electrical is working except the horn. Correct dish wheels. This Jeep has the correct steering wheel, the later WWII jeeps had the steel spoke wheels to save rubber.
This is a good looking and good driving 42 MB.”

Tom shared this wagon. It appears fairly rust free for an eastern wagon. It’s listed as a 1954, but the grille suggest it may be a late 1950s wagon.
