This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Flexible on price and open to trades looking for an old pickup or side by side. Here is my 1946 cj2a. I bought it about a year ago and it had a 170 Ford inline 6 with a t90 trans and Dana 18 tcase. It ran fine everything worked but I wanted more power and decided to try and swap a small block Chevy into it. I replaced both frame horns (18” piece of frame) and plated the frame with 1/4” steel back to the firewall. Welded in motor mounts from advanced adapters. The motor and t90 trans are bolted together but don’t have clutch in. What I think it needs to be finished is a flywheel and clutch kit, axles, and a few small things. Call me for lore info too much to list lots of extra parts.”

(12/23/2020) This SN 44064 has a solid looking body. There might be a sign on the driver’s side (can’t tell for sure).
“1946 Willys in excellent condition. All original minus wheels and seats. Front disc brakes are installed. All new electrical. Great for driving around town. New odometer has been put in. Original is available.”

There looks to be value here. It’s got both the indents and the column shift.
“Selling my project Willys CJ2A. I’m just not going to have the time to get to restoring it. Former owner said it ran when parked but I haven’t spent any time on it other than putting in a starter to verify compression. This is a 3 speed on the column shift model.”
The Huntington Digital Library has some more Kent Frost photos from his trips through Canyonlands and other southern Utah places. The photos represent two different trips. Most pics are from an October of 1955 jeep excursion, while one photo is from May of 1957.
This first photo from October of 1955 is a great photo that shows Kent and Fern Frost standing in front of a CJ-2A with a Porter & Reed hardtop. I’m not sure if this was one of their jeeps or not.

Blaine spotted a CJ-3A with a trailer in the 1957 Movie “Black Scorpion“. The flick captures the emotional turmoil of scorpions who, once trapped inside a volcano, are released by volcanic activity. Ready to party like velociraptors on Adderall, the scorpions reek havoc on the rural communities surrounding Mexico City. Here’s more on the story from trailersfromhell.com and imcd.com.
The main character drives the CJ-3A, so apparently the jeep appears often in the film.
