UPDATE:  This popped up for sale last night for only $800!  I knew it would go quickly, so I notified an Idaho reader about it late last night.  He called this morning (first person to call) and had a deal worked out to pick it up tomorrow.  The reader called at lunch to ask an additional question, only to learn the seller sold it out from underneath him to someone else.  I hope the buyer knows what they got.

The serial number (verified by a photo that I didn’t download) was #10300.

“This is a very early 1945 Willys CJ2A Jeep. The VIN is 10300 which makes it number 300!! Transmission is froze-up. Would be a great project.”

UPDATE: **SOLD* Was $2500.

(08/29/2012) This has the column shift, but it has bad floors.

“1946 cj2-a rare column shift ( 3 on the tree) complete jeep and clear title. almost new soft top and soft doors as well as all of the hardware. has been in storage since 1986. the only thing missing is the seats. the rear floor is rotted and a spot at the driver and passenger foot area’s as well. the rest is solid. frame is solid. no patches. included is a 1957 cj3b parts and clear title as well. for the 57 i have (complete) engine and transmission, four springs, both axles,front half of tub with vin tags,hood (perfect), windshield and frame(perfect), grill &radiator (perfect), nos rear quarters, side steps,etc. the 1957 cj3b is basically just missing the frame, wiring and floor.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2400.

This has full floating hubs in the rear, so this could be part military or part early VEC CJ-2A.  However, there are a few other details that suggest this just might be a collection of various parts.

“Drives and Runs well and in good condition. Recent upgrades to brake system and rear and front internal gears etc.  call for appointment if serious about collecting this gem. Needs minor electrical and a paint upgrade. Have clear title”

(01/16/2012) This has three data plates and is a column shift.

It looks nice.  It must have been switched to a floor shift at some point.

“1945 Cj2a Willys Jeep. 90 percent restored. Serial #11325. Body #1824. New tires, paint, seat covers. Transmission, transfer, and 4×4 all work perfectly. This is an exceptionally clean Willys Jeep and has won many awards at car shows.It is 1 of only 1825 built during the last 6 months of 1945. It has original color scheme of Pasture Green with Autumn Yellow wheels. It is extremely fun to drive and is driven daily. For the right price, you should enjoy this Jeep as much as we have. This might be worth a look.

“I have a 1946 Willys jeep that I disassembled years ago and started to restore. This is pretty much a complete jeep, including seats, fenders,grill, windshield, as well as some extra parts (tire chains, etc). The price includes over $600 worth of new parts I had planned to use (new brake master cylinder, new gas tank, new wiper motor, new front bumper, and several other parts).
