About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Damian wrote to tell me that a favorite drag jeep of mine, Rapid Transit, is racing under a new owner and a new power train. It looks like it uses a Bobcat hood and (likely) body.
He writes, “believe it or not this jeep is still around in the cleves, ohio area and races regularly, but it is now a center seater 2wd and has a small block chevy, i race with the current owner and also do photography.”
This good looking jeep likely has a Bobcat body. The license plates suggest the jeep is in Nevada, but the VIN/ID plate is from Washington. I’m surprised this only has a Dana 41 rear. Is that a thin air cleaner between two steal plates.

“***Beautifully Restored and Modified*** This ‘attention getter’ is ready to go to a new home. Everything works and is in pristine condition. Rebuilt Buick V6 Engine has about 600 miles. This is a 3 Speed T90 with a hydraulic clutch and Atlas Transfer Case. Jeep has Dana 44’s front and back and has new electrical wiring throughout. Jeep was like this when I bought it except for minor modifications to make it look and run better. It also comes with the complete vinyl top. Not in a hurry to sell, so no low balling and not looking for trades, only serious inquiries. I can answer any other questions you might have. Sorry cash only.”
“I have a 46 willys jeep for sale. With a good running chevy 305 and a Muncie 4 speed tranny with hurst shifter. I recently striped the body and gave it a nice coat of epoxy primer. Jeep has a 6 point roll cage willys hood and an after market fiberglass hood (both are Primered). The windshield is the only piece that isnt primered and it need a new glass. Jeep also has 14X33″ boggers. Jeep has fiberglass bucket seats with covers. Front axle needs a little work but other than that this is a mean off roading machine. Just dont have the time to make it what I want. 3200 OBO”

Ed Bray and his parents raced jeeps for years throughout the West. They built two Fiberglass Bobcat bodied race jeeps. In fact the family was friends with both Paul Parker (Parkette Fiberglass Body manufacturer) and Fred Weis (Bobcat Fiberglass body Manufacturer).
Their first jeep with a bobcat body was built on a military frame and powered by a 327 with 365 HP. Below is Ed’s mother at the start of a race in Calgary where she won an obstacle race. A year ago Ed spotted this jeep, still powered by the same motor (he recognized the sound), driving in Spanaway, Washington.
The next jeep the family built in 1976 started with a factory ordered CJ-7 frame. They stretched a Bobcat body 13″ and installed a Chevy 350/350 LT1 motor set back 8″ with a B&M Turbo 400 w/reverse manual shifter. They added a Wagoner 44 in the rear and a Scout 44 in the front. They raced the jeep in SCORE events, ran the Mint 400 four times, and tried the BAJA 500 in 1980, but DNF’d. The first picture below is from Riverside and the second from the Mint 400.
Ed’s father Don died in 2001. Ed has been refurbishing the family CJ-3A that started it all.
It’s a project. That could be a Bobcat Fiberglass body.
“This is a 1946 Willy’s CJ2-A. frame is solid has been re-enforced. Fiberglass tub and fenders. Medal hood and grille. Have a truck load of parts that go with this jeep. Started as a project three years ago and haven’t touched it in a while. Motor ran good when I started working on it. Has a ton of new parts. All new brakes, lines master and wheel cylinders. Many many parts go with this jeep including two engine blocks cranks and two spare transmissions. It has chrome wheels and radial tires. Also have all four original jeep wheels in great shape. Asking $1,500 for EVERYTHING come take it all. Lot more invested.”
“I’ve had this jeep for over 20 years and have done many improvements to it including; removing and repairing body tub, exchanging lhead engine to f head with more horsepower, rebuilt transmission and transfercase, install saginaw steering, new paint, new seats, rollbar, new tires, stereo, custom hood ,new wiring ,new top, new exhaust”
UPDATE:**Status Unknown** Was $500. Note the hood looks like a teardrop Bobcat style.
Except for the dash, the body looks good. This is the third Parkette body I’ve seen in Georgia.
“Its 1946 frame with a 1964 fiber glass body on it. It has been painted with truck bed liner I have a tranny and transfer case that is good. The body’s in good shape its has a few places where the fiberglass has spider webbing. It has a few parts that come with it. I got in on trade just putting it on here to see what else is out there trades are welcome.”
