Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This has some good updates. Might make a great project. “1947 Willys Jeep CJ2A Flat Fender 225 Buick V6 Posi traction Raised uspension Tru Trac tires on spoked rims (lots of tread) Locking hubs Roll bar Swing peddles 11″ brakes Saginaw steering Jeep as been parked for the last 13 years, ran when parked but will need some work to go back on the road. Clutch system, master cylinder, ignition. Great project with most the hard work done! $1450.00 OBO”

This fiberglassed flattie looks good.
“Jeep runs great. Body is Fiberglass. Original engine, frame, transfer case ect. Has new fuel tank, lines, sending unit, pump. New carb, plugs, air filter, cap, rotor, thermostat. New wheels and tires.
Leaks some oil, I have seal to fix just haven’t. I have roll bar and soft top with doors also.”

This seller says he put $80,000 into this jeep.
“2009 Sand/Off Road custom jeep. Custom Fiberglass body 16″ longer than CJ-2A norm. Custom built one off 680 HP Reher Morrison engine.
406 Chevy w/everything top of the line plus 150 HP nitrous. Vehicle Total weight 1850 lbs. all alum full floor and firewall. spec dana 60 40 spline w/spool and alloy axles. [BULLETPROOF] top of the line TH400 trans manual valve. Hyd steering. Custom Beard seats, custom built headers, off road HID lights, LED tail lights, Aluminum gas tank, Hurst shifter, MSD, quick release steering etc.
Trick suspension w/triple bypass coil overs w/ built in 1″ hydraulic bump stops. all chromoly cage flanged and removable. much much more. There is a lot of additional items, all top notch over $80k into this project. Health sadly forces sale of this Beauty!!!”
Damian wrote to tell me that a favorite drag jeep of mine, Rapid Transit, is racing under a new owner and a new power train. It looks like it uses a Bobcat hood and (likely) body.
He writes, “believe it or not this jeep is still around in the cleves, ohio area and races regularly, but it is now a center seater 2wd and has a small block chevy, i race with the current owner and also do photography.”

This custom fiberglass flattie has been stretched in the front, among other mods. The grill style looks pretty different, but no good pics of it.

(09/13/2013) Here’s a rare fiberglass CJ-3B body.
“I have a 1948 Willies project, complete fiber glass tub, rust free frame, truck was started but never finished. It has brand new super lift leaf springs/ brand new super lift shocks sstl brake lines they are good ridge it has brand new rock slider shackles as well. Great deal asking $2500 have other misc parts as well. There is a moter andtransmission but don’t know ifit works. Please call Rob @ 239-791-9307”

The rear of this is fiberglass. It includes a PTO.
“Rare 1953 Willys “Farm Jeep” CJ3B. Hurricane F head 4 cylinder, 3 speed manual , 2 sped transfer case, PTO, snow plow. It is not currently running, the engine is locked up, but has been full of anti freeze. I have the head removed to see the cylinders.
This is the real deal, 10 leaf springs, PTO, plow etc….even has the factory blue paint under the hood, and on the inside of the grill opening. The rear tub has been replaced years ago with a correct fiberglass unit. It has almost every original component, including the original rear hitch. Its not perfect…
This was a family members vehicle, that passed, and I am not going to give it away-if you are seriously interested, contact me.
