Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Unclear what work it needs. It has a rare Koenig 555 Super Cab.
“It’s a red 4×4, 2-dr utility ’56 Willys Jeep, CJ-5. Was going to restore it, but no longer have the time.
Was appraised at $6000, I’m asking $4995 obo.
Received a “Serviceable rating” = restorable, but needs work to be drivable.
Great for collectors or car enthusiasts.

“1961 Willy’s CJ5. Runs Great, drives good lots of new parts. Moving out of state must sale. replaced brake master cylinder, front brake cylinder, front brake shoes, new headlight switch, went threw wiring, is converted to 12 volt, new tail lights, new blinker switch, new shifter boots and knobs, new fuel tank and sender, new carb, new aluminum radiator and thermostat. Jeep needs some more minor work.”

No mention of doors. The triple window setup in the rear makes me think this is a Koenig, but the construction of the rear of the top does not look like any Koenig I’ve documented. To me, the front curves in a way that looks like it was designed to fit snuggly atop a 3A or 3B windshield. Any thought on the model?

“1972 CJ6 Half cab very rare all steel body except front fenders are fiberglass 33 inch tires aluminum rims with lift kit 304 V8 three speed manual transmission four-wheel-drive headers with glass packs side pipes Jeep was re-done years ago starting to show its age has been sitting for 4 to 5 years I started up and moved it a couple times in that time Will definitely need carburetor rebuilt it was leaking a little bit and TLC points probably need clean from sitting Was in several magazines years ago just don’t have no time for now all it does is sit $8500 Don’t waste my time with stupid questions or offers”

“1955 Willys M38A1. runs and drives. Needs work. Comes with original rims and tires along with 33” tires on new rims. Also comes with a ton of spare parts, everything you need for it. Clutch is sloppy and brakes need work. Front driveshaft is out. Has rust. All original except rims and I have the originals. Make me an offer, trades welcome”
