Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This has a few updates. I can’t tell for sure, but their might be some rust along the driver’s side.

“I am selling a 1947 willys cj2a jeep. The jeep is in great shape with very few dents and there is hardly any rust in the jeep. the floors are solid and in good shape. The jeep has 5 new military 600-16 tires, has new carburetor, fuel pump and all the fluids in the jeep have been replaced. The motor was rebuilt several years ago and runs great. transmission shifts through all the gears and 4×4 works good also. Jeep has a nice snow plow on it along with a set of chains. Jeep would be a very nice set up to plow your snow off your driveway in the winter or to restore!! The jeep is located in Crawford Colorado but I am delivering another jeep to Colorado springs area the 2 through 4th of September so I could deliver to the springs for $200 bucks.. if you have any questions please call me at (970-462-7760) Asking $3,000 or make offer”

(06/18/2011) Interesting paint job. I’m wondering if some rustoleum has been sprayed over the rust spots?
“1951 Willys Jeep for sale. Licensed and registered in Idaho. Mechnically runs great any everything works. All original but needs some body work and a paint job. Drives verry good!”
The seller hasn’t started the jeep lately as radiator needs repairing. This has a rear PTO.
“This is a one owner 1951 Willy’s Jeep CJ3A with a hard top. The engine is a 4 speed manual, 4 cylinder and has a winch on the front and a PTO on the rear. The bodywork is in good shape for its age and it has most of the original parts. I have not attempted to start the jeep lately as the radiator needs repaired. This is a 60 year old classic. The vehicle located in Botetourt.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2200
It runs but isn’t quite ‘street-able’; I’m not sure if that is a handling issue or street-legal issue.
“This is a running driving Willys with a clean title. All the lights including blinkers work, and this vehicle is very close to being street-able. I converted this to run a chevy 4.3 v-6. It was rebuilt 5 years with new marine vortec heads and edelbrock conversion intake and carb. I used a adapter plate with a brand new input gear to use the a original Willys trans and transfer-case. I have had this in the mud once and it worked out great. Could use a lager radiator but is not needed. It comes with extra parts like windshield frame, a good hood, axles, more transmissions and transfer cases, a aluminum half cab, a custom full roll cage, and several other parts. The body has had work done to it in the past and the paint is flaking off. The jeep is overall solid and would make a good project or toy as is.”

Norm spotted this ad. The jeep has an interesting hardtop and unusual back. It appears well done. Does anyone know if the airforce owned or had other CJ-3As like this?
