This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Steel hardtop for early Jeep CJ5s. Fits 1955 through 1970ish. I believe this is a Meyer brand top. Its all there, glass is good, some rust through on the mounting ledge, patched hole in the roof. Comes with a pile of doors, rusted but useable. 300 bucks for the top and doors.”

I found this photo on eBay. It shows a VEC CJ-2A with a wood-based hardtop. The back of the photograph suggests that the builder of the hardtop may have been manufacturing these for sale for $265. The seller of these called them Jeep Station Wagon Bodies and built at least one of them (as shown in the picture). It appears these were built in or near San Francisco. There was another manufacturer who built similar tops out of Cleveland, Ohio, and advertised them as Station Wagon Bodies.
This has a Porter & Reed hardtop.

This has a Warn OD and a Koenig hardtop, along with an unusual paint scheme.

“This right here is a 1964 Jeep CJ-3B (4WD). The vehicle is a barn find. It has 43k original miles. It has a Buick V6 motor in it which is original to the vehicle. The original color on this Jeep is Spruce Green Tip. The top is in good condition. Floorboards are in good condition. Frame is in great shape. This is a great project vehicle—it has a RUSTY Exterior. **NO TITLE**. I don’t negotiate over the phone.”
I think this is a Koenig, but I can’t tell for certain.
