About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: This was previously listed in Newport Beach in late 2021 for $20k. It’s now listed at Lake Arrowhead for less. (pics from previous post, as the jeep looks the same).
“Rare 1946 CJ-2A Willys Jeep Includes trailer 4 cyl Ford engine w/360 miles 3 speed 4WD Grandfather bought it new in 1946! Restored and stored indoors Straight clean body Fun to drive!!”
“1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep. Has the Go Devil 4 cylinder engine. Engine turns over. Doesn’t run but with a little work I’m sure it would. Manual 3 speed transmission. The steering box is really stiff, Its a simple box and will probably need torn apart and rebuilt. It has the really hard to find full cab. I have the passenger side window in the back that is intact. Just needs put back in. Also has a snow plow that is powered by the PTO on the Jeep. Clean Idaho title in hand. This Jeep is a project but they are hard to find this complete and in this condition. Its a great base for a restoration. That was my plan but I have too many projects and no time as it is. $4500 OBO. Let me know if you have any other questions!”
“1953 Willys Jeep. Professional restoration done in Clovis California. In great shape. $3000 custom top. Has power steering straight body and ghost flames. Chevy v6 engine firm on price that is the low. Please no story tellers tire kickers or lookers..”
“For sale is 1946 Willys CJ-2A serial number 94602. The jeep retains all of its factory frame and body tags as well as the original engine and drivetrain. The jeep has a valid NC title, the engine turns over freely and the trans and tcase shift through the gears properly. The body is in good shape overall for its age, saved by the top and being stored indoors. The areas that need attention are shown in the photos. This 2A is a wonderful example of a survivor and will make someone a great driver and/or restoration project.
Apparently, the top wasn’t chopped like I previously thought? After looking at this top for comparison http://www.ewillys.com/2020/09/02/meyer-cj-6-hardtop-livingston-mt-1500/, it still looks a little chopped?
If the body is in good shape, this may be worth the price. This is only for the body and hardtop.
“1958 Willy’s Jeep Body and glass only.!!!!!! Started 4″ chop new smoked glass and gaskets $800. No trade’s. Has no Title. No drivers door. Meyer steel top.”
Marty shared this customized CJ-6. He confirmed this was built in Pennsylvania. Both rear axles are drive axles, though one new carrier bearing is needed. The large side windows suggest the Meyer hardtop was modified, too.
“his is a 74 CJ5 extended to include a third axle. Runs rough at the moment but drives amazingly well. It is powered by a 79 small block 350 which makes this Jeep scream down the road. Very well built all original look steel interior and exterior no fiberglass. Has a stretched and modified steel hard top wrapped in vinyl and a steel half cap included but not in great shape. Also includes the tan bikini top for warmer driving. In the opinion of mine and others (mechanics) this is a very well built rig and can be left as is with minor work and still a one of one head turner in the world!! Needs a carrier bearing on the mid axle rebuilt to drive the rear axle and with that is a live three axle Jeep. Will consider trading for; Scouts, Range Rover, Land Rover, Land cruisers 43,45,or 47 Ford Bronco, Jeep CJ6, CJ8-Scrambler, pretty much anything old cool and definitely 4×4!”
“1961 Willys jeep, 4 cylinder,3 speed. Fuel tank cleaned and lined, needs installed, big winch. Been sitting for a while but will start and run. Posting for my father-in-law. He ca answer any questions.”
(12/12/2020) The cargo bed floor has been replaced with a flat sheet of metal. The front floors look repaired. This has a capstan winch on the front.
“I FOUND THIS JEEP IN CONNECTICUT AND BOUGHT IT FROM THE 3RD OWNER. IT HAS A 12 VOLT SYSTEM WITH A STARTER BUTTON ON THE DASH. ALSO HAS A DIRECTION SYSTEM WITH 4 WAY FLASHERS. ALL LIGHTS WORK. IT HAS HAD A STEEL PLATE WELDED TO THE BACK FLOOR AND THE SIDES ARE A BIT BEAT UP. THE WINDSHEID HAS BEEN REPAIRED AND IS NOW ONE PIECE. ITS PAINTED IN IT’S ORIGINAL COLOR PASTURE GREEN. IT ALSO HAS A VERY RARE CAPSTAN WINCH MOUNTED UP FRONT. COMES WITH A HALF CAB AND A REAR SEAT. I HAVE A LETTER FROM THE 3RD STATING THE MILAGE IS ORIGINAL 12 – 14,000 IN 1999 WHEN I BOUGHT IT. COME TAKE A LOOK”
TJ shared this ad for the doors (hardtop not for sale) out of Everett, WA. The doors are priced at $50 on Facebook. I don’t recognize the doors or top. Does anyone else recognize it?
“These doors fit a hardtop like the one pictured. They contour to the jeep body nicely and are complete with glass. Unfortunately the top is not available.”
“48 Willys CJ-2A with a title in my name.
Rough shape but all there except interior.
All drivetrain is there. The engine is newer not the original flat head. Has an over head valve engine that I’m pretty sure is bad. Does have a rare hardtop with one door that’s in bad shape but probably fixable.
I’ve owned the jeep for years and realized I’m not going to have time to do anything with it.
Looking for $1000 will negotiate in person if you’re interested.
Feel free to call or text me with any questions.”
