This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a project Jeep. It’s a rare Marine Corps radio Jeep. It’s been modified. It has a Buick V-6 225, 160 HP engine. It has a vintage Warren electric winch mounted to a heavy duty bumper, oversize tires on deep dish rims and an after market removable cab. It has a complete, all new brake system, new aluminum radiator, all new wiring harness and lots of extra parts including a brand new gas tank and all new gauges. If you’re looking for a project this is the Jeep for you.”

This has a rare KEMCO branded hardtop.
“CJ2a willys jeep. This is a project jeep. it has a V8 chevy swapped into it. has rust, but overall not to bad for the year. what you see is what you get. i haven’t tried to get it started yet. just thought i would post it before i do any work on it.”

(03/17/2020) This could be a good price. It has a rear PTO gearbox and a Deluxe Sears top.
“1946 Willys Jeep. First year of the Civilian Jeep. Runs great, drives great. Motor, transmission, transfer case, differentials, brakes all recently rebuilt. New leaf springs with small lift, good tires, recent paint. Has the rare Power-Take-Off option. Aluminum top in great condition. Clear title and current Oklahoma tag. Ready for work or recreation”

The seller’s description suggests this was originally a Surrey DJ-3A. There is some pink on the inside. Appears to be a good price.
“This is a rare Willys Model DJ-3A. Originally was pink with pink and white striped interior. Top is a Super rare steel Koenig Iron Works too from the 40’s or 50’s. It has roll up door windows and window sliders on the sides and a hatch back”

A big thanks to Ted Jordan for making and sharing these scans. When Hubart A. Kelly initially purchased the D. L. Beck Manufacturing Company, which produced CJ-2A hardtops, initially the cab company was called Kemco. At the time Beck was still a working partner at the company. This rare four-page brochure was produced at that time. Not too much later, Kemco was officially became the Kelly Manufacturing Company and Kemco disappeared.

Ted Jordan also shared this early Kelly Manufacturing Hardtop Brochure. Note that the brochure mentions Kemco on the front page, which suggests this was printed shortly after the name was changed to Kelly.
