About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“Original restored flat-fender Willys Jeep. Runs great, does not smoke or burn oil. No drips or leaks. Does not pop out of 2nd gear. Rebuilt flathead engine and tranny/transfer case. Re-cored radiator. All new hoses and wiring. New seat upholstery. New rear springs. Comes with new vinyl Tiger-Top. Includes tow bar and towing lights. Everything works: gauges, lights, vacuum-tube radio, heater, vacuum wipers, cigarette lighter, etc. New master cylinder and brake lines. Original 6v electrical system. Fresh paint. Recent shocks and u-joints. Added turn signals and seat belts for safety (and passenger-side tail light), and off-road lights; otherwise all original. Original rims go with it but not installed. NO RUST. No “Willy’s Wobble”. Current CA registration. Clear title. Many other new parts not listed. This is an excellent driver, but not a show car. Great fun on desert trails. If interested, email me your phone number and I’ll give you a call (email through Craigslist). Thanks for your interest in my vintage Willys!”
“What was supposed to be a rattlecan overhaul, turned into a full blown restoration that consisted of over 700 hours of labor and a significant monetary investment. This Willys has been a southern California native since new with very little rust, and has not had any accidents nor has it endured farm work, off road abuse or butchering by its previous owners.
It started as a solid and original foundation that we expertly crafted into what is being offered for sale now. As a father and son team with over 40 years of automotive mechanical, engineering and restoration experience, we undertook this project with personal pride and without the intent of selling it. However, circumstances have changed, new projects are on the horizon, and it is now being offered for sale. We have the clean CA title and current registration in possession.
“1955 willys wagon. 4wd. all stock. has ramsey p.t.o winch. (works) has had 12 volt conversion. Super Hurricane Engine. Just testing the waters here. . . has new Battery, and cables recent tune up rebuilt carb brake job brake light switch (Replaced with O.E.)Rubber blocks between engine and motor mounts. I’m sure I forgetting some other things here.
Glass is all there in good shape. windows roll up and down fine. has original willys heater which works fine. bumpers are in very good shape. all lenses are intact and fine. trim is also all there and in perfect shape.
The truck runs excellent. everything operates the way it should. the engine sounds like a sewing machine, you can barely hear it running.
good tread on tires.
all body is in excellent condition. one issue being is rust in the bottom of the tailgate. you can tell it has been stored indoors most of its life.
Bed wood slats are also in excellent condition.
This truck goes down the road at 55-60 mph no problem.
what it needs is to have the leaf springs re-arched, and maybe a gasket replaced on the gear box. it has a very slow leak. I always check it before it is driven though. and it functions just fine. any questions feel free to call, text, or e-mail I’m located in oregon city, OR show contact info (more pictures to come) Link to video of engine running.”
This M-38A1C is currently at the Volo Auto Museum.

THE RIFLE IS ITS OWN SEPARATE PIECE AND WILL COME OFF THE JEEP TO SIT ON A TRIPOD. FOR THE TRUCK DISPLAY, THERE ARE SEVERAL ARTILLERY SHELLS, RADIO WITH HEADPHONES, SHOVELS AND MORE. THE RIFLE WAS CAPABLE OF TAKING OUT A TARGET 8500 YARDS AWAY. THERE IS A 50 CALIBER RIFILE THAT IS ATTACHED TO IT THAT WAS USED FOR SPOTTING, BASICALLY THEY WOULD AIM AND SHOOT THE 50 CAL. TO MAKE SURE THE AIM WAS CORRECT BEFORE SHOOTING THE 106 CAL RIFLE. THIS JEEP WAS PREVIOUSLY DISPLAYED AT THE ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL.”
“There is nothing more rugged and endearing than a Willys Jeep. . .especially one from the early 1950s with some patina. This 1953 Willys CJ3B is almost completely original and has acquired some battle scars over the years. Nothing serious. . .just enough to add some character. If you’re into off-roading or just want a beast to drive around, this Willys with a factory Hardtop, just may be the ticket for you. I know I have had a blast with it over the past 18 years cruising around my property high in the Colorado Rockies. This CJ3B is listed with a starting bid of $1,000 and a reserve well below what it is worth.
“Rare original paint, one of the cleanest Jeeps you’ll see for the year, very little rust, has been garaged must of its life, 232 engine with weber carb, headers, T176 4 speed, Dana 300 transfer case with a Tara Low 4 to 1 kit, 4.56 gears with ARB air lockers ft. & Rear, Warn full floater rear axle (Dana 44), power steering, 4 way disc brakes, Goodyear MTR 35’s, Warn winch & Warn off road lights. many more things to list. We have taken this Jeep on trail ride all over the country and had a lot of fun with it. We just don’t have the time we use to, and I don’t want to see it just sit.”
(02/17/2013) This has some unusual customizations, including the dash.
We are getting transferred out of state, do not want to move with us, but can if need be. So bring offers, the worst I can say is no thanks.
