About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“I have for sale a 1952 Willys M38. It was restored about 6 months ago, but I would say it is 98% done. What I mean is it has no decals on it, no add-ons, etc. I wanted to keep it “base” form so whoever bought it can take it and put there personal touches on it. This is not a true M38 restoration. What I mean by that is it has been converted over to an alternator and 12-volt system, it has blinkers both front and rear, it has lockout hubs on the front axle, etc. Just a few little things that makes it easy on the owner and easy to take off down the road in. This was a full frame-off restoration. Everything was sand blasted and re painted. The original tub was rusted far way beyond repair. I actually found a super-nice M38 tub that I picked up in Pennsylvania. The L-134 “Go Devil” engine was rebuilt with all new bearings are rings, etc. The T-90 transmission, Dana 18 transfercase, and both Dana axles also have all new bearings and seals. The gauges are all new, new wiring harness ($$$), new tires ($$$), new fuel tank ($$$), new exhaust, new driveshafts, new brakes, new seats, new weather stripping, new everything. It is really a nice Jeep. It does not have a top or a rear seat, I just never got around to getting those and I like having my dog ride in the back so I didn’t bother.
Like I said, it is 98% done. I literally “finished it” and took it home, it still has just a few kinks that need to be worked out. The fuel-sending unit and the fuel gauge are both new, but the fuel gauge isn’t registering. I just haven’t taken the time to check it. If it sits for a few weeks, it can be hard to start, it does have a choke but you almost have to choke it by hand and then it fires up, almost like the choke doesn’t choke it all the way. And lastly I did use the factory starter and it works pretty good, but it can act goofy from time to time, I should have just put a new one on it. It really is a super-nice Willys M38. Not a 100% military restoration, but practical. I have only had it done for about 6 months now but I am just not that interested in it anymore. Plus, I am a big guy and these army Jeep are pretty cramped, I am just not comfortable in it. I have only put 15 miles on it since it was restored. I am asking $10,000 or best reasonable offer. This is a military vehicle, Bill of Sale only, no title. It is currently tagged in Georgia.”
(06/13/2014) Looks solid. The trailer and top could use a little de-greening.
“For Sale 1949 Willy’s CJ3A with top, and trailer. Jeep in fantastic shape virtually NO rust, with factory installed winch, hood, windshield frame and tailgate restored about 15 years ago along with new upholstery all otherwise original . . .only added feature is a bolt in roll cage. Been in garage for the last 15 years Factory aluminum top needs cleaned up but in pretty good shape and complete. Trailer is all original and easily restorable with rust damage in the corners of the bed.”
“This is a 1948 Willys M38. Identical to the CJ2A except the battery is accessed thru the cowl rather than under the hood, the 2 little dimples under the passenger door where the shovel and axe were mounted, and the “full floater” rear differential. (In this case equipped with Warn hubs at all 4 corners. Buick “odd-fire” 225 V-6 has 1500 miles on a complete rebuild. It has an Offenhauser hirise with a mini Holley 4 Barrel with electronic choke. Chrome fenderwell headers. All the following has 1000 miles: -new brake and clutch master cylinder. -4 new wheel cylinders. -Bestop soft top & doors. -new guages. -new electronic ignition. -new Ididit tilt steering column/steering linkage & new power steering box. -new Painless Jeep-specific wiring harness. -electric fan and controller. -LED daytime running lights / night blasters. -Optima battery with on-board maintenance charger. -rebuilt T-90 transmission with Warn overdrive
“This is your chance to own a piece of Americana! This post war jeep will give you endless fun on or off the road. Always meticulously taken care off, this jeep has flawless paint and interior. The seats have all been recently repadded and recovered. All of the instruments are new, as well as all of the lights. The carbouretor was rebuilt this month along with a new fuel plus vacuum pump. An oil change is always preformed every 250 miles. The engine is in top shape, it faithfully starts every time with no hesitation. I really hate to see it go, but I am trying to raise money for college. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.”
