Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 Willys CJ2A flatfender classic, rebuilt 4-cylinder, rebuild 3-speed transmission, rebuilt transfer case, rebuilt overdrive (meaning it will cruise at 55 mph!), rebuilt brakes and axles, period-correct tan paint with grey seats and factory orange wheels, new NDT tires, all-new wiring, every gauge works, new glass, new gas tank, no issues. $6900.00. This Jeep was rebuilt by my son, with help from 4 Wheelers Supply, Hopper’s Automotive, Stoney Mountain Jeep and Chandler Auto-Truck Electric. We have all receipts. Only selling because my son is in South America for two years. ”

“1950 Willys CJ3A Flat fender Jeep
This Jeep is a great little runner that gets looks all around town. It’s reliable, starts right up and hasn’t failed to get me home again yet. It stops on a dime and steers straight and true. It rides on 7.50×16″ Firestone 8 ply NDT tires with less than 1K on them. The rims are the original size 16″ x4.5”. It will roll through the back roads all day long but it won’t take you down the highway mind you. It’s top speed is 55MPH with a tailwind so comfortable cruising speed is between 45-50 MPH.

“1942 Ford GPW(running) and 1945 Bantam Tailer. Jeep and trailer have been brought back to motor pool standard.

tools with tool bag, jack, jack handle, tow rope, rebuilt tire pump, Ford-marked engine crank, BC-620 radio with mounted(FT-250) power supply, MP48 antenna with MP50 mount, rubberized antenna base cover, 6 antenna sections with bag, and assorted commo accessories. There are a lot of “F” marked parts. Total list of parts and accessories too numerous to mention.
There is a GPW rebuildable engine block for sale that we can discuss.

“I’m selling my 1953cj3a Willys flat fender jeep. It is currently registered and runs. It has a 76 ford pinto 2.3l 4cyl motor with a stock t90 3spd tranny and model 18 t case. Stock running gear. It isnt perfect but is in good shape. It needs a flywheel ring gear wich is around 76$. Was going to fix it up and restore but don’t have time for it anymore. This was a navy Jeep. Plenty to read about this one.
“I’ve had this great running little jeep for several years. I’m thinking I may want to pursue a different hobby so it may be time for my Jeep to move to a new home. I purchased this from a friend of mine (WWII aircraft mechanic) that used it at Centennial Airport to pull vintage airplanes around the hanger. The reported history is it was originally purchased by the US Navy in Hawaii and used as a shore patrol or similar right after the war. Although there were many Army jeeps in the area, the Navy purchased a few right after the war directly from local dealers (sounds like a mini-stimulus program). I verified this info from a WWII Jeep forum on the web called G503.com.

“Beautiful candy apple red Jeep Willys cj2a. It’s mostly stock with matching vin’s except wheels and tires. Good 31X10.50 radial Baja wide track tires on all black rims. Stock flat head 4cyl runs and drives great. 4×4 works great. It has aftermarket bucket seat in it now on professionally built seat mounts but the stock seats are in great condition and are included. Has a partial roll bar, bikini topper and a custom back seat. Modern radio with nice speakers. Also has a brand new magnum 9k winch all wired up and read to go. The motor is painted to match and all hoses are dressed with chrome covers that match the diamond plating around the jeep. It is missing the speedometer, odometer, has aftermarket gauges and a fiber glass hood paint to match also. Installed seat belts in front. Must see! Collector vehicle plates. Title in hand in my name.”

I happened across this beautiful wagoneer. It looks like a great price. We thought seriously about this one.

THE JEEP HAS BEEN IN THE FAMILY SINCE THE 1970’S.
THE ENGINE IS THE ORIGINAL 4 CYLINDER REBUILT BY WILLAMETTE PARTS
IN EUGENE. THE MAINS ARE .020 AND THROWS ARE .030. THE STEERING BOX,
TRANSMISSION, BRAKES ARE ALL REBUILT. A NEW TOP WAS PUT ON AT
THAT TIME AND JEEP PAINTED. HAS ALWAYS BEEN INSIDE AND COVERED
IN A STORAGE SHED. MOST OF THE WORK WAS DONE IN 1985 AND SINCE THEN
I WOULD GUESS THAT IT HAS NOT HAD MORE THAN 2,000 MILES PUT ON IT.
