Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Has some rust but not too bad for as old as it is. It would have been dust if it spent its life in Virginia. Could use a new tailgate because of rust. It has been in Texas since 1980 and california before that. Engine is a Chevy 350 and was a reman installed a few years ago. Has a Ford rear. Whats it need? A battery, rear wheel cylinders, master cylinder, and bled. Runs real strong, just wont stop. Hasn’t been driven much in years. Make an offer.”
Looks solid, though the body has some dings.

Looks like the front frame rails have been patched? I can’t quite tell for sure.

Numbers matching chassis with a new tub. Has G.I. tow bar and pintel hook. Reproduction .30 cal. machine gun with pedestal. Dash mounted rifle scabbard.”
Here a CJ-3B with an unusual dash and steering wheel design. It’s got kind of an antique feel that I find interesting. It was photographed and posted by RUD66.
This looks good, though the pics aren’t the best.
“I am selling my 1943 WWII Jeep Ford GPW. This is the real thing runs and drives great. This would be a great vehicle for a frame up restoration or drive it like it is. I hate to let her go but remodeling house and need the cash. My lose is your gain if this is what you are looking for.
Good: Its the real deal. GPW Block, Willys Head, Many ‘F” stamps solid running vehicle original three speed 4wd works. two combat rims included and many other spare parts.
Bad: Converted to 12 volt (that may not be bad to some folks but not the original set up). Spings, shocks and spring hangers are not original. (original set of springs and new set of correct hangers included. Some Bondo in gas tank area (old repair) Does not have a top or bows aftermarket Warn locking front humbs installed.
This is a 69 year old vehicle but still very solid. I want to sell it so the reserve is resonable. You can call me with questions, there is no info on data plates. 843 314-3362 Eric”

(01/15/2010) There are a few minor things that aren’t original, but they aren’t any big deal.

Though it is a CJ-2A, it has rear floating hubs. Maybe it’s a VEC?
