About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“This is a fun, mechanically solid trail jeep. It has been on almost every trail in Washington and every sand dune in Oregon, so it has some issues. I have alway driving this Jeep hard but not to the breaking point. After every trip this Jeep got a good cleaning, fluids checked then got it ready for the next trip before putting it away. It drives pretty good on the street, but with the rear spool and no turnsignals and no full top, it is not a daily driver. Continue reading →
It looks nice enough, but with only 11,297 miles why does it have a new bumper?
“1960 willys jeep all orginal miles 11297 f heads 3 speed full floating front and semi back axles rebuilt trans new master cyl lines brakes and wheels cyls new tune up and extra adopter for chvy 350”
“1948 Willys pickup. 327 V-8, 4-barrel, power steering, Warn Overdrive, new 35-inch Mickey Thompson tires. Recently professionally rewired, gauges restored in CA. Good daily runner and for road trips, I drove it to Chicago and back in June. I am the third owner.”
I suspect the pictures don’t do this CJ-5 justice.
“1960’s Jeep Willys CJ-5 in excellent condition for sale. Looks like it just rolled off the production floor. Fully restored to original and hardly driven since, only has 586 miles on the restored engine. Hurricane-4 cylinder engine and 3 speed transmission, including high low and 4 wheel/2 wheel drive levers. Shifts smoothly through all gears and runs great.
– The paint and body is perfect, no chips, scratches, dents, etc. as is the interior.
– New, military style tires including a spare on side.
– Original restored dash
– Lap seat belts on newly covered vinyl seats
– Original canvas top
– Working winch on front.
(03/05/20110 This appears solid. It looks like it has a spare tank on the passenger side.
“second owner , all origional ,12 voklt, brand new tires, everything works and runs great comes with a tow bar, flat head four cylinder huricane motor, 20,000 miles on motor”
“Jeep 1949 Willys with canvas seats and top. Was restored in 1996 and has a 4 cylinder Buick in the place of the L head Jeep engine it was born with. When this was king speed limit was 45 on all Florida roads. It was made for 45 and below and is lots of fun there. Has towbar and can pull trailers easily. In low range you can idle through about anything. This is a dirt road, forest road loving vehicle and has WARN hubs. Everything works fine but needs the brakes adjusted by hand if you enjoy stopping.”
4×4 works good
original hurricane 4 cyl. runs good
original 3 speed transmission shifts good
took body off frame and sanded and painted frame in 05 when I got the truck
put new hoses and belts, radiator, fuel pump, water pump, wires, plugs, shocks, brakes
good set of tires all around
drove this truck every summer since 05, last driven in oct 10, haven’t got it out this year yet,
needs new battery, put new in in 05 but now it’s dead but can be jump off to drive,
it has the original 6 volt system
this truck was made from the factory on a cj3 frame and running gear, so even though it
is a rare truck, parts for the drive train are very easily found.
the body on this truck is pretty good shape for its year, it looks like it was repainted years ago,
rust is at a minimum for these trucks, both floor boards and rear cab corners are the worst part
this truck is as close to original as they come, i’ve driven it all over the place on road on trails
i took it to a car show 30 miles away, which took a while considering it has a top speed of 50 mph down hill
i love this truck but have to many toys and no room.
I prefer cash but will consider partial trades or trades for samurai tin top, jeep cj or wrangler with hard top 4×4 only”
