Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “A nice clean willys that runs good and has alot of upgades and mods to it. chevy 350 engine with 400 auto tranny, power steering, lifted on 33s, leather front seats(heated also if you hook it up), newer paint job, a good heater that blows hot. (02/12/09) This CJ-2A has a number of custom details. The engine compartment looks nicely laid out. This jeep also sports the enlarged windshield; I’m not certain if this is custom or an aftermarket product?? .
“1947 Willys jeep with Chevy 283 small block (runs great), 3 speed, NO RUST,set up for duel optima batteries, rewired the whole jeep, took all the old nuts and bolts and replaced them with new,full roll cage,costom bumpers, holds matching (new) 33×14.50 spare tire and Hi-lift jack mount, $600 Holey truck avenger, $800 clutch, Exhaust, rhino liner tub, excelent front seats with back bench seat (seat belts), Custom windsheild and doors that lock, custom Cooper top, Racho suspension (leaf springs, shocks, shackles) Dana 30 front with disc brakes and locker, Dana 44 rear,too much to remember but I have reciepts for allmost everything I’ve done to it in the last 14 years. I’ve only put around 200 miles on it since I’ve owned it which means everything is in like new condition except for paint has brush scratches, 2 ez fix dents (nothing bigger than a lemon). Dana 44 left side axle shaft is bent and needs to be replaced (not the whole axle assembly). Theres a lot more but cant remember everything. Point is.. if you like the jeep and you want something classic that is a major head turner for the family to enjoy for years to come like my family and I have enjoyed. It’s the most reliable old jeep in the world:) I used to put car seats in it and me and my girls would be off finding those hidden fishing holes and camp sites. I thought I would own this jeep for ever but I lost my good job and now I’m under paid and have to make big sacrifices. I’ve already done everything that needs to be done to an old jeep so now all you have to do is make me an offer and steal it. ”

(10/09/09) “Up for auction is this 1956 Willys CJ3B. This Jeep is in great shape with nearly no rust and mechanically sound. It does have its typically willys seal leaks, but very little. This Jeep was bought about a year ago and, have been working on it little by little to get it to where it is today. I run around town locally in it, take the kids around and use it as a great conversation piece at car shows. If I go to one next time it may win. I have gone as far as I want to go in the restore, it’s time for someone else look after this piece of American history. This Jeep has many new parts and all steering, brakes, transmission, 4X4 and engine work very, very well. This jeep will only run at about 45 miles an hour, but this little one will climb anything. I am selling this Jeep locally and have the right to stop the auction at anytime. I accept cash, PayPal or check, but I will have to go to a local bank with you to verify funds. This Jeep does not have a title as it is not required in Georgia for older vehicles.”

“I hate, hate, hate that I have to sell this Jeep. I purchased in the early 2000’s and have 293 recorded man hours into the restoration. I have a full photo album of pictures from the very early stages through completion. However, none are online. I have taken a few pictures of the pictures with my camera phone.
Too much detail to go into regarding the restoration, but I do have a printout of everything that went into it. It runs well and is started weekly to keep everything in working order. T-90 Transmission and Transfer Case Model 18. Engine: #J45856. This restoration is one of the nicest that I’ve ever seen. This jeep is a great collectible and a piece of American history. (01/07/10) I believe the seller means that this jeep is running a Dana 30 in the Front end and utlizes a SM420 for the transmission.

“1958 Willys CJ3B High Hood Flat Fender Jeep. Set up for off-road. NO RUST! Total frame off restoration in 1995. MerCrusier 4.3L engine, with four barrel Holly Truck Avenger Carb. T-18 granny low 4-speed transmission, model 20 transfer case. Dana 44 axles out of an International Scout, with 4.88 gears and Detroit lockers front and rear. Four wheel disc brakes. Spring over conversion. 38×12.50 Super Swamper tires with little wear. Late model power steering with 1” solid tie rods and Hyme joints, tilt steering column out of late model Jeep. Custom roll cage, racing seats. Large removable storage box in place of rear seat. Filled with spare parts including; fr/rr drive shafts, complete set of spare axles, and other various parts. Also have rear seat which can be reinstalled easily. Custom storage box mounted in rear receiver hitch. Front mounted Warn 8274 winch and on board air compressor. Two tops: Full soft top and bikini half top. Also CB radio, battery cut-off switch, hydraulic clutch, optima battery, custom nerf bars/rock guards.”
