Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1944 Willys MB Jeep Classic. One of a kind — excellent condition! A definite eye catcher. Just in time for Hot August Nights! 95% restored stock. 12 volt system. No rust, no dents. Newer paint, sprayed rhino liner on inside floor. New interior and top. New brakes including master cylinder and slave cylinder. New wheel bearings and seals, new fluids including differentials. “Selling a 1976 Postal Mail Jeep DJ / DJ5 / DJ5D – $1000
Last inspected 2010, currently starts, runs, and stops. Is moved around monthly.
Should be an AMC 232 with a 727 torqueflight.
Will need brake work, battery, minor electrical, and tires at a minimum.
Converted to electronic ignition. Uses many CJ / CJ5 parts.”

UPDATE: Price dropped to $450.
(04/29/2014) This has an old school feel. This may be a MB or GPW body/chassis. Note the hubs on the rear. What’s really interesting is the reshaped entrances for drive and passenger. It’s well done and gives the jeep a slightly different look.
“Bought this Willys to restore but have decided it is too much of a project for me. It is either a 2A or 3A (year and model unknown since no identification on body or frame and no title). It has a modified body, roll cage, frame and axles. Has a raised hood with one rust spot and lots of bondo (probably part of conversion to V8) and modified steering.
I installed used tires since the pictures were taken so I can roll it around. It can be used for parts or rebuilt. Looks like it had a Chevy v8 in it at one time. It has surface rust but metal seems solid (several holes have been cut into the floor and inner front fender wells for unknown reasons).
You may notice the rear axle is really a front axle installed in reverse (reason unknown) and pictures also show a Dana 18 transfer case (it has a hole in the side so case is not useable).
It appears to have re-arched springs to give it a 2-3 inch lift.
Asking $450 with wheels and tires (tires have minimum tread) or $350 without wheels and tires.Jeep is located in Helendale. I can deliver within local area (for a price) if necessary. No title, bill of sale only.

We are getting transferred out of state, do not want to move with us, but can if need be. So bring offers, the worst I can say is no thanks.
If you are looking for a classic Flat hood Jeep that is also a trail machine, this Jeep is for you! This was a full ground-up rebuild/restore. Photos were taken in October 2012. I have photos of the Jeep being built and almost all of the receipts. This Jeep was appraised in 1999 at $30,000 by Colorado 4X4 Specialists. It has maybe 5,000 miles on it since then. Never really rough 4 wheeled.
Upgrades include: Chevrolet 4-bolt main 350 Engine; Transmission is Sm-465 Chevy 4-spd. with Advanced Adapter; Centerforce 11″ clutch and pressure plate; Ring & Pinion 4.88 Front and Rear; Warn Winch Model 8274 with remote control; Warn Overdrive; Axles: Dana 27 front with Posi/Dana 44 rear full floater axles with Posi; Air compressor with tanks, gauge and shut off; Custom made stainless steel firewall, bumpers, wheel well, 28 gallon gas tank, motor mounts, skid plates, radiator mount, battery box, transmission cover, custom tilt dash.
