The price looks good for this flattie. The paint job looks like one of a kind.
“Runs well. Great hunting rig. Transmission and Transfer case recently professionally rebuilt. $2400 obo. E-mail for phone number or additional pictures.”
This appears to have a CJ-2A body. The paint job is certainly unusual; I would like to have seen this when it was fresh.

UPDATE: This now lives on the East Coast. I got to examine it up close at the 2013 Bantam Festival. The work is excellent. It was bought for $9000. It has more of a surrey look to it now.
I used the IMCDb.org site to attempt to locate an image of the jeep to the right from a shot in the movies. You can see a DJ-3A from Blue Hawaii (not a very good shot). Or the same shot enhanced and cropped to the left. Here’s a link to a shot of the Nutty Professor’s DJ-3A.
This flat fender (the one on the right) falls into the ‘unusual jeep’ category. Apparently, it’s a movie star!

I love the old school paint job.
“Up for auction is 1946 Willy’s CJ2A #64464. Many years in previous family and believed to be originally purchased in California. Barn storage or desert life much of vehicle’s existence and what little rust around steps came from outside storge last few years not far from southern California beach.
I purchased this 2A as a project to do with my son as I soon planned to start work on my original one owner California ’48 CJ2A(red one in couple of pictures) and was not far from my house. I believe it to have most of it’s original Harvest Tan paint in tact and to be 95% rust free. This 2a underwent a very well done 283 Chevy V8 engine swap in the 60’s that included 11″ brake upgrade and GM steering. The fire wall has been moved rearward 4″ with nice metalwork. Sold with bill of sale. Vehicle does not have windshield, seats or engine. Have seen some restored and complete rolling chassis on ebay as late so maybe a great restorable body can be of help to someone.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2900
This looks solid.
“1950 willy jeep in Excellant condition. 4-cylinder Chevy Iron Duke Motor. 4×4. No rust. New tires. Runs and drives really good.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.
Not much room between the rear tires and the body.

After seeing some of the posts about the old Desert Dog and Bobcat ads, Jeff dropped me a note saying he’s been enjoying the old ads and old pics as it reminds him of the busy Northwest days of jeep clubs, playdays and racing in the northwest. So, he forwarded me a pic of one of his jeeps (he also has a sand drag jeep listed below for sale).
He’s been nice enough to let me post it. I really love the creative paint job — I haven’t seen anything quite like it.
Jeff writes, “This bobcat jeep was bought back in 1983 as a project. It was a body and a HUGE pile of parts, to which I’m sure your readers can relate. Currently, it runs a 355 chev w/ ford toploader 4 speed, a dana 20 case, a ford 9inch w/ 35 spline summers axles spool nod case and 6.00 gears. The front is a gutted mdl 27 w/ a mustang rack. The cage is chromoly. The car weights 2250lbs w/o a driver.”
