About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: Was $8000. **SOLD** Looks like it has a Muller Top.
(08/30/2010) Here’s an unusual CJ.
“1946 WIllys CJ2A Jeep custom built. Chev V8, power steering, Rancho suspension, lockers, 5.38 gears, electric overdrive, 33″ new mud terrains, Warn 8,000 lb. winch, custom SS dash with full guages, heater, CB radio, AM/FM stero, Cooper removable top, half doors, and much more! This Jeep is for the serious Jeep builder and off roader only.”
“This is a 95% complete and original Willys CJ-2A. It is a perfect unmolested candidate for restoration to drive in a parade or to the beach this summer. It has always been stored indoors. The original L-134 Go Devil engine turns over freely with its own starter. I do not have time for this project and so I am choosing to sell it. I am including a spare Borg Warner T90 transmisison and Dana Spicer Model 18 transfer case for parts. Consider trade for wide front end farm tractor.”
“1948 Willy’s CJ2A, Ford 2300CC 4 cyl, Rancho lift, Supertrack muffler, stock 3 spd tranny, waren winch, new soft top, new 32×11.50 tires, aluminum mod wheels. “
“1951 willys m-38 /Flatfender jeep / v-6 225 runs good, does have a bad feul tank, been sitting for 19 years ,Body has no rust that I can see , preaty good shape $3500.00 call 253-370=7656 / 360 890-5971”
When someone lists a jeep as ‘professionally restored’, it is only natural that I’ll examine it a little more closely. It appears sound, but sports an early CJ-2A grille, doesn’t have the bow holders, and is missing, as best as I can tell, windshield wipers. The custom looks nice. The strangest issue, in my mind, is that there is white paint around the edges of the gauges (probably just taped off the gauges), which doesn’t look all that professional to me.
“1948 WILLYS JEEP MODEL CJ-2A 4 CYLINDER 4 WHEEL DRIVE,THAT HAS BEEN PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED TO SHOW CONDITION.WITH BEAUTIFUL RED PAINT (ORIGINAL COLOR) AND A NEW CONTRASTING ORIGINAL STYLE AND COLOR BLACK SEAT INTERIOR. NEW CUSTOM MADE (DURA-TUFF) CONVERTIBLE TOP AND SIDE DOORS. THE ORIGINAL ENGINE HAS BEEN REBUILT WITH A REBUILT CARB. AND HAS ONLY VERY LOW MILES ON IT. EVERYTHING WORKS ON THIS JEEP INCLUDING THE TRANSMISSION, THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM,NEW CLUTCH,NEW BRAKES,NEW OFF-ROAD TIRES. ALSO A NEW CHROME FRONT BUMPER. “Vinyl Top for 1940s vintage Willys CJ2 jeep. Fair condition (some splitting on driver window film). Comes with all hardware (aluminum frame, etc.). Cash only.”
(01/02/2011) “willing to trade my 1950 jeep willys for a s10 or s10 extreme ext cab or a commuter car almost any thing 4 cylinder has chevy small block racing seat some extra parts any question give a call with what you got 973-945-9703”
The price might be good on this. I can’t tell if there’s rust across the rear bottom of the windshield or if that’s just an illusion.
“runs good needs some brake work 68000 original miles 4 wheel drive works im third owner of the jeep as told to me by the first owner has some body rust but still looks good also has a small black top that is much better looking more pictures available.”
(01/04/2011) This might be a nice rig for the price.
“this is a mostly orginal willys jeep, has been updated to 12V, has rebiult engine great heater and newly recovered seats, new soft top, new root beer brown purle paint, 32×11.50 tires. runs and drives great.”
