This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1952 Jeep Willys CJ-3A, Bare bones, Manual steering, 3spd Manual Trans., 4 Wheel drive, Warn Hubs, Newer top, Newer body parts, Newer leaf springs, 2 sets of wheels with tires, Extra new Tailgate, Extra old vinyl top with doors for parts (doors are good), recently had Antique plates on it. Runs Good.

(02/27/2014) That rear bumper is unusual.
“Old School 1946 CJ-2 A. New Tires, Tow Bar, New Top, 12 Volt system, 12Volt Alternator and Battery. This Jeep is 68 Years Old and drives at 40 MPH. You need to be mechanically inclined to own it. Body is in good shape with new windshield. All Gages work. It Located 8 miles South of Deming, NM,. on Columbus HWY #11 just past Mile Marker 27.”

I’d like a photo of the rear of this top. It sure looks unusual.

The odometer reads 11,800. And, it looks like it could really be low miles. Might be worth a closer look. Not sure why the tailgate is a different color than the body (though the tailgate seems to match the dash.
“This is a well kept, hard to find Jeep. I have original title, was used to maintain driveway of roller rink for many yrs, then stored many more. Actual mileage is 11800+. The engine is the std jeep engine from that yr. Runs quietly, etc. Has hydraulic lift for plow. I also have that plow if interested. Body is very good for a vehicle of 58 yrs. Insured appraisal at time of my purchase was 7500. If you are looking for a great old vehicle to work on or just bum around in this is for you.”
Hasn’t been run since 1992. Looks pretty good for a jeep that’s been sitting for 22 years. It seems like we’ve seen this one previously.

Body and frame are in great condition no rust, a little but if surface rust here and there but otherwise in great shape.
Motor haven’t ran since 1992, most likely sized, going to need some work.

Not exactly a ‘combat jeep’, but interesting none-the-less. The serial number looks to be 14093 (not positive about the 3 though).
“rare VEC combat jeep converted after the war by willys for civilian use. ran great last summer has a dead battery might need a starter rebuild. no tub rust except one spot on the passenger step. 3 brand new jeep tires included. ($600 value)”

(09/02/2013) It needs some work, but looks promising.
“I have for sale a 1952 Willys M38 Military jeep. It has a Tennessee title. The jeep needs brakes, exhaust leak fixed and the gas tank cleaned and sealed. This jeep is 24 volt electrical system with all the electrical parts still there. It runs and drives but does not stop. It has the following original hard to find parts: all three seat frames, top bows, top bow brackets, all blackout lights, pintle hitch, jerry can and holder, spare tire carrier, windshield wipers, front and rear lifting shackles, brush guards, horn, carburetor, under hood battery box, oil bath air breather, and many others. The tool box needs to be rebuilt for it has rust through. This could be a daily driver or a good jeep to restore”
