This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (05/07/2014) This looks good, especially for the price. Includes an overdrive.
“Hello, up for auction is my 1953 Willys CJ3A. This Jeep is an excellent example of “survivor” and is mostly original. I am the 3rd owner of this Willys. I purchased it from the 2nd owner in 2012. He owned the Jeep from 1962 to 2012. I was told the Willys was owned by the State of Maryland from 1952 to 1962 but I have no documentation of this. The mileage currently shows as 51250 and is the original mileage.”
The Willys is a 1953 according serial number but is titled as a 1952, this is very common. The build date falls in November of ’52, often new vehicles were titled as the year they were sold in. The Jeep is mostly unmolested other than a repaint some years back by the 2nd owner. The paint is close to the original color. There is rust but the body is very solid. Sections of the hat channels, body sides where the floor meet them, and the rear panels are the worst of the rust. The floors and tool box botom are remarkably solid. If properly cared for the body will last for many years. The frame is solid and shows no cracking.

Family owned since new. It doesn’t run. Not 100% original, but is worth a look.

“1952 Willys CJ-3A Exellant original condition, staight metal no body work, no rust. Engine runs great, uses no oil, low miles. (have original spedometer) new radiator, water pump. New carburator, fuel pump and starter. New clutch, pressure plate, ring gear throwout bearing, also new exhaust, transmission re sealed. New brake system all around and new wheel bearings. 12 volt system, new military style tires on original wheels, seats covered in canvas, asking 5500.00 cash! “

There are several jeeps at this June 7th Auction. The “1959 CJ-2A” looks more like a 1949 CJ-3A or maybe a 1959 DJ-3A to me.

“This jeep has the original go devil 4 cylinder and factory drive train. It’s tag is up to date and It has a clean title. I use it to drive to work on really nice days ( 10 mile round trip) and take the family for rides around the ranch. Four wheel drive works wonderfully and transfer case shifts effortlessly. It is a partial restore that I don’t have the time to finish. Plus have a new baby on the way and need to consolidate my hobbies. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or text.”

Runs and drives, but needs a little bit of paint work.
“Selling my 1949 Jeepster, as you see from the picks its 99% original. It runs and drives very well. It was manufactured by Willy Overland company from 1948 to 1950, so not many exist. It needs some exterior paint work. It been sitting in my garage to long, time to find it a new home.”

“!945 Ford GPW Jeep. Willis and Ford made identical jeeps for the army in 1942-1945. This vehicle underwent a frame off restoration and finished in army green gloss in 2000. All of the receipts are available as well a link to some of the restoration on video below:

The numbers match and body sequence is correct. The Jeep was manufactured in Ford’s Louisville plant in May 1945 and believed to have been used at Cory Navel Base in Pensacola and later sold to the West Virginia Highway Dept.”

“1951 unrestored Willys Jeep, very complete and original project. Includes spare wheel, gas tank, gas can, better gauges, etc. Engine turns over and it is still original 24 volt. Solid body with minor damage.”
