The engine is updated, but otherwise this looks stock and in good condition.
“I’ve had this military jeep since high school and converted it. Work included changing engine to a Ford 289 V8 and electrical system to 12V. Engine needs some work (carburetor, brakes) and tires. Has steel top, heater, rollbar, overdrive, Warn locking hubs. 4WD with tansfer case and high/low/takeoff shift positions. Looking for good home to owner who wants to help with second restore.”
This GPW includes a flatbed trailer for towing it.
“1942 Ford GPW Jeep – older restoration, painted as a “Follow Me” jeep, it is used as a reenactors jeep (has won Best Vehicle at the Midland Texas Airshow) Stored inside. Converted to 12 volt. 4 cylinder jeep engine, original drive train, combat rims, two older tops. Also included is a 2006 two axle bumper pull flatbed trailer for towing jeep on highway, trailer is painted olive drab. This jeep is a lot of fun and always a head turner. Any questions feel free to email.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500
The seller believes the engine is original. However, the ID# starting with 4T indicates this was originally used in a late 48 or early 49 truck (thanks to the 2A page for that info)

(03/18/2013) “Collectable. Original 1947 Willy’s army jeep. Believed to be a 1942 but was first registered in 1947. Great condition, no rust. Runs great but carb could use some work. 2 sets of tires in great condition, original seats in great condition and original gas cans. A lot of FUN! Serious buyers only!! Call Connie at five 0 9- nine five three-one six one three”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500.
(12/19/2012) This seems a little strange. The seller bought this twelve years ago from someone in Arizona. It still has the Arizona title. What’s strange is that instead of new pictures, the seller appears to be showing pictures from Arizona, which I think means the pictures are twelve years old? You gotta love the tiny rope around the bumper, lol.
“1951 Willys CJ-3A Jeep Overland 4×4 Go Devil
This CJ3A has its original Go Devil engine- runs and drives great.
Never been cut or modified.
Very good original condition with cosmetic improvements and electrical upgrade to 12v.
Purchased in Pinetop, AZ about 12 years ago from the estate of a man who was said to be the original owner.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This might make a good restoration. It looks like the body has been patched a bit.
“n 1950 the USMC ordered only 1000 of these jeeps. This jeep was designed to run submerged for 15 minutes. The serial # ran from 10,000 to 11,000 and this jeep is # 410. My research has this jeep being one of only 29 ever found. The motor is original to the jeep and runs by feeding it fuel. This CJV35/U has one of only 3 original distributors left. The distributor alone has been valued at $3000.00. This jeep still has the original 6 volt generator, starter and voltage regulator. It also still has the positive ventilation valves, waterproof headlights, and the 6 volt ignition switch. The radios are gone! The 12volt generator for the radios is gone! The hold down loops for the front and rear are still there. The hood is original and still has the 4 hood hold downs and the original USMC bumper #.”
UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was last on eBay.

It runs and drives. Can’t see much from the pic, but it looks stock.
“Military Jeep. willys. 1953 M38a1. This awesome jeep is all original with gun mount and bo lights . It runs and drives. some rust on the floor and needs a little work on rear quarter panel but nothing bad. Awesome off roader or hunting rig. I will post pics later. 503-593-9451”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5200
It’s not a perfect restoration, but might be worth a look.
“F/S: 1946 Willy’s CJ2-A $5,200
This Jeep runs and drives excellently. It has new wheels and tires, fuel tank, master brake cylinder, and a 12 volt battery conversion (much more reliable than the old 6 volt systems). The Jeep has fresh oil, brake fluid, clean oil/air filters, new spark plugs, and freshly packed grease fittings.
The Jeep is a blast to drive. The 4×4, in combination with the big tires and small wheelbase, makes it a beast off-road. The “Go Devil” four cylinder motor is true to its reputation as being reliable and powerful. Also, it has a Power Take Off in the rear that can be used to power farm equipment like a generator, wood splitter, or winch. A working PTO is a rare option to find in these Jeeps.
Overall, this is an excellent old jeep. Keep in mind, though, it is almost 70 years old. It is great for cruising around town, back roads, or off-roading, but it can’t do highways. It can be driven home locally, but I would recommend transporting it over far distances. Transportation can be arranged through me for a serious buyer.
*The headlights and one brake light recently stopped working, but I have the parts to fix them and I hope to have it done before selling it.”
