About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Available for quick sale: 1947 Jeep Willys. This will make an awesome project for any Jeep lover. My husband purchased this as a project a few years ago but it unfortunately wasn’t refurbished before my husband became ill and passed. It doesn’t run but most all parts are present. It has been stored in my garage for the last several years. It will really be an easy restoration for someone looking for a project. I am looking to sell asap. Please call me, Stacey, at 443-744-3624.”
This nice truck is being auction with 100% of proceeds going to the Clark Fork Coalition which helps protect the Clark Fork Watershed.
“Original flat floor.Truck runs well. Model 6-226. 6 cylinder, 226 engine (correct engine for this model). A CID Flat head side valve engine. Engine has not been re-built, but engine has been re-sealed and gaskets changed. This is a point ignition. Body man and painter did meticulous body work. Very pretty truck. Runs well at 45 mph, geared low.
Full repairs done to the vehicle in 2011. I have a copy of the report that I can share. Basically, this is an amazing little truck. Our donor paid around $10,000 for the vehicle and then put another 10K of work into it … so with this new info it’s actually worth retail of close to 20K. Vin # 55268/11999.
Latest comp test in 2011 on the 6 cylinder engine – all fired at 110 except #3 which fired at 105 – still really good.
The only items of note: Some rust on the floor but this was covered with a plate of sheet metal in the 2011 repair. See photo. And, all cab mounts eventually need to be replaced.
I am receiving a lot of emails about this. If you prefer to talk in person please email me through eBay to set up a time. I am on staff at the nonprofit running the auction but will answer questions best I can.
Thanks,
Clark Fork Coalition”
(12/05/2012) Randy forwarded this eBay listing. This sure has rusted beautifully!
“1951 Willys Jeep 4X4 Pickup Truck. This is a project that is currently not running and has been setting for the last 30 years. This is a very restorable truck that is a rock crawler waiting to happen. The drive train is complete from engine to rear end. The engine appears not to be original because it is an over head valve, and the engine is locked up and will not turn over, the remainder of the drive train was in working condition when the truck was parked. Although the body is 99% surface rust it is actually very solid and straight. The cab is very nice as is the roof, hood, cowl, grill, rock guard, and doors and these pieces should clean up for paint with very little effort. The fenders are all on the rough side but are repairable. The bed is also very straight but does have through rust in the bed sides and in the floor. The tailgate has minimal rust and will need some work. The glass is all in place except the driver door wing window, the rest of the glass is either frosted or has bubbles from old age and will need to be replaced, but it is all flat glass and should be very economical to replace. The interior is rough, the seat frame and springs are in place but will need to be recovered. All of the guages are in place and the dash appears to be complete. The wheels all turn freely and the tires all hold air, but are 30 years old and dry rotted. All 5 wheels are original to the truck with the factory pin stripe barley still showing. I have tried to decribe this old Jeep the best of my ability, but have probably missed something that you need to know, if so just ask. If you would like to inspect it in person prior to the end of the auction again just ask and arrangements will be made. This Jeep comes with a good Missouri title. The buyer will be responsible for all transpotation costs if required, but I will be willing to assist in loading or pickup on this end if needed. If you are looking for a project or just some good parts you should give this one some serious consideration.”
The starting bid on this is only $1200. It looks pretty good and likely has the 30 spline offset rear differential. Those rims are pretty rare, too.
“Everything about this jeep screams cool. It is a really fun car to drive and definitely willget attention. I had it for 4 years in East Hampton tojust cruise around in. I really dont want tolet it go but I am living in NYC pretty much full time now. This is a great beach wagon and probably the best place for it is near sun and sand. It is definitely a great summer time car and a great project car for some one who doesn’t have a ton of time to spend on getting it back to original. The major overhaul work has been done. There are just a few more minor tweaks to make and then tackle the cosmetics which is the fun part.”
“942 willys mb jeep. it does not run right now.but engine does turn over.there is a 3 speed on the floor.everything is there and in original condition.there is body work that would be needed.there is even a place where a machine gun would have been mounted in the jeep.remember this is a 70 year old jeep.call ”
Here’s another nice looking Jeepster from Jeepster Jim.
“Really nice Jeepster that does not need Restoration. The top is ok and the interior is nice. It has the side curtains and runs and drives great, including the overdrive. It has new wheels and tires and comes with an original, working factory heater. The chrome is in good condition and the lights and the horn also work. I’d feel comfortable driving this car anywhere.”
“I have two 1962 CJ5’s. They are in ruff condition and would be great winter projects.

“1949 Willys Jeep CJ-3A. 100% restored with original 4cyl motor. Have receipts for all parts and Owners manual. Starts and runs absolutely perfect. Everyone who sees it says, “I want one of those” my reply is who doesn’t? Not many like this around. Only selling because of funds needed for business.”
This looks like a time machine that would take me back to the 1950s.
” Representing the perfect car for the Islands, Beach house, or just traveling on the coastal roads, this 1949 Willy’s Jeepster is both unique and fun.
Powered by a overhead valve four cylinder engine, coupled to a three speed manual transmission with overdrive, it is quite spry and cruises nicely at highway speeds.
Limited numbers of this year were produced, resulting in their somewhat scarcity and adding to their collectibility.
Representing a older restoration with very nice seating, its a driver quality car. Everything works and the engine and transmission perform flawlessly with no unusual noises or smoke. Additionally it is fitted with a new convertible top and boot. Approximately 70K miles.
Certainly a great vintage, classic, antique and collectible car to own and drive. Additionally a great investment car.
Fully serviced with fresh oils, new battery etc…”
