UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $20,000
The year on the hood of this jeep appears to read 1941, but the ad is for a 1942 MB. Probably an oversight, but just saying …
“you will not find a better conditioned willys army jeep than this… all original matching numbers 1942 willys jeep.. this vehicle has never been registered or even driven on a road..it has been professionally restored. its has 72 original miles ….yes just 72 as it just sits around in a climate controlled aircraft hangar and is occassionaly driven on the airfield.. it is in mint condition with no dirt of any kind on it.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3200.
That may be a VEC body. This might be a good price.
“1948 Willys Jeep. Starts and runs strong! 4wd and Hi/Lo transfer case works great. Great paint with very little rust. Lots of original equipment (all original??).”
UPDATE: Was on eBay. **SOLD**
“1950 Willys CJ-3A civilian jeep 4×4. We used for hunting and lake vehicle. Original 4 cylinder engine – rebuilt in 1998 – yearly driven miles = 2-15. Starts right up – definately under-used. my uncle put in a heater, bought the canvas top/doors etc.. supposedly did axle work, clutch , driveshaft replacements and misc other stuff when he rebuilt engine and put on new carb. 12 Volt system now. Rust in several areas – but been here in Dry New Mexico for quite a while. Headlights not working ( switch?) but tail lights are fine – no turn signals.
Extra parts included – whatever i can find anyway.”
UPDATE: Was $3000
The floorboards have been replaced with diamond plating, but this looks pretty good. Note the seller has the following for sale as well: King-seely governor. Full PTO system with rear belt pulley drive. Tow bar. And an ultra-rare Ramsey Model 101 crank-driven winch (missing the driveshaft and clutch). I will pull these parts and sell separately unless purchaser would like to negotiate them in the deal.
“’46 CJ2a unmolested original. Completely rebuilt brakes — all new steel and rubber lines, shoes, master cylinders. Currently has a new Solex carb, original Carter WO (rebuilt) in a box. New fuel pump, original included. Replaced broken intake manifold with new replacement (broken original included). Still running the original 6v system, all original gauges, starter, and generator. New battery. All gauges work. Sears brand locking hubs. All lights work (only one tail light, no turn signals). 4wd system works.
Starts, runs, idles, and drives with no smoke. Trans shifts cleanly, understanding it is a non-syncro first gear. 4wd system functions well, and yes, I really use it to pull loaded trailers, play in the snow, and drag things around the yard. I drive it (untagged) around the neighborhood regularly and easily hit 30-40mph with no problems — never had it any faster. I have let it idle for an hour, never overheats — actually, I have to put some cardboard over the radiator to keep it warm in the winter.
Body is in very good original shape relative to other unrestored 2a’s. There are a few rust-through spots, would be fairly easily replaced with plain sheet metal, or drive it as is. Driver/passenger floors were replaced at some point with diamondplate. Rear bed is in great shape. Original seats. Windshield was modified to have a single pane glass instead of the split glass. Single 6v wiper was added, that does work. Tailgate works and is in great shape. Body serial numbers match (tub/tailgate), also in line with the production serial number, and its in line with the engine block number. Hat channels are rusted. Frame is completely solid, suspension has performed well, and the steering is relatively tight. I have a lift and we can put it up in the air to look at the bottom side.
Several accessories are available, but not included at the posted price. King-seely governor. Full PTO system with rear belt pulley drive. Tow bar. And an ultra-rare Ramsey Model 101 crank-driven winch (missing the driveshaft and clutch). I will pull these parts and sell separately unless purchaser would like to negotiate them in the deal.
Photos available, or come by and I’ll get it out of the garage. Its a very cool old rig that deserves to stay original. I already have a highly modified Jeep, and could use some my garage space back.”
UPDATE: Was $5500. Status Unknown
This looks like it could use paint, but otherwise might be a pretty solid jeep.
“all original runs great !!!..New tires and rims, two new seats ,brand new 12 volt battery and Generator. just paid for new reg. I have owned it for over 15 years.”
UPDATE: Now on eBay
(05/16/2010) It looks real nice.
“1948 CJ-2A Willys Jeep, completely renovated, and runs great. The body was removed from the chassis and stripped to bare metal, nearly all of the panels within the tub area were replace with new after market quality pieces which were professionally welded into place, the underneath was then professionally coated with POR-15 and body finished with a beautiful Metallic Orange base coat clear coat process for lasting protection and beauty. The chassis was cleaned and painted with a rust inhibiting black protective coating. Seals and emergency brake drum where replaced, master Cylinder was replaced along with brake shoes and hardware. The intake and exhaust manifolds were replaced and the carburetor rebuilt. New coil, plugs, plug wires and battery. Complete new electrical harness was custom built, with the addition of turn signals and flashers. New tinted windshield glass, with all new seals and stainless steel hardware. New instruments including a tachometer, new speedometer cable (the ORIGINAL Speedometer was cleaned and oil and kept) additional 12V outlet for Aux equipment. New steering wheel. Seat Belts were added. New seat cushions built with Marine grade foam and Sunbrella fabric with a Tommy Bahama Pattern. One of a kind BIKINI TOP made with the same Sunbrella / Tommy Bahama material. Unique webbing over rear area that is easily removed but very useful in securing items carried in the back. New front bumper with decorative rope accent and mounts for the tow bar. New tow Bar.
Not shown is a new complete “BESTOP” top including doors (Black) — I installed it once — just to get the snaps and hardware in the proper positions. Otherwise it has never been used. I have pictures of it installed — but that was before the painting was done.

This might be a great price.
“1953 Willys Jeep, non running. $750 firm. See pictures.””
This looks pretty good. I bet with a coat of green paint this could look very good.
“This jeep is all original. Has a title and is 95 percent complete. I spent approximately 8k eleven years ago restoring it. It has been sitting outside in the weather. It needs the canvas all the way around and someone with time to work on it. If you are interested call me at 727 7485264. Thank you.”
This looks nice.
