About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(11/17/09) Here’s a CJ-3B that looks in good shape, though the exterior has been painted with a bed liner.
“For sale is an excellent condition 1953 Cj3b. I purchased the jeep in Kalispell, Montana in 2000. Since then, it has made several moves around the country and finally wound up here in Bend, Oregon. I kept the jeep in its original terrible condition for seven long years and would receive the half-hearted thumbs-up at stoplights. Now it turns heads everywhere it goes. The jeep has a bad history of turning a 10 minute trip to the store into a two hour discussion with an oldtimer who used to farm his property with this same model. Everywhere you drive, expect to stop and talk. We have even been pulled over by the state police, not because we were speeding (that’s impossible except for in school zones) but because he was curious to find out what was under the hood; having never seen the Willy’s high-hood before….”
“This an early cj2a, serial # 11325 which puts it being built in 1945. This jeep would make a great start for a restoration. It is very straight with little hat channel rust for 65 years. The side steps are solid and support weight. Runs good ( smokes a little) , all lights, dash light, horn work. Fourwheel drive and all gears work. Brakes work good for 9″. Things that are new: BATTERY 6 VOLT, 4 NEW TIRES, SEAT CUSHIONS, SIDE MIRROR, SPARE TIRE MOUNT, PROPER SIDE MOUNT MUFFLER WITH NEW MOUNTING HARDWARE. Been trying to put back original equipment. Shifting was put back on floor with a MB transmission . A lot of WWII parts on it. Sold as is , no warranty, Non refundable doposit of $500.00 48 hours at end of bidding. Balance due within 7 days unless other arrangments are made. Buyer responsible for shipping. Vehicle is towable. Oriqinal paint was forest green and autumn yellow….”
The front of this tilts down a bit too much, but otherwise this looks nice.
“Completely rebuilt and mostly original with a few added extras. Not a single bolt unturned. Bead blasted every part and painted with industrial epoxy paint. All bearings replaced, engine (flathead 4cylinder) completely rebuilt, completely rebuilt radiator rodded out, front and rear differentials rebuilt, transmission and transfer case rebuilt. EXTRA CLEAN JEEP!!! Dont want to sell but I have to due to the economy. You WILL NOT find another like this not even brand new. I personally did all of the work on this jeep and I completed all work to a perfection.”
“This is a very neat truck. The first year for the Willys jeep truck production was 1947, This truck was the 972 willys truck ever built out of only appx 2600 .. Its a 2 T model. 2 wd. With the rare Column shift transmission. Flat head 4cyl motor. It is in remarkable condition for its age. These are prone to rust and this one is very solid !!!
I purchased this truck at the Iola vintage car show. My son and I have taken it to some shows, driven it around town and had fun with it. Now we want to buy a muscle car . These trucks as well as any old car are prone to rust, What impressed me the most about this truck was how solid the body was. This willys has never had the floors patched !!! Even the nicest old cars ive seen have had the front floors patched. This jeep has the orig floors. very nice body mounts underneath. orig Willys rocker panels, Nice door bottoms. Orig steel front and rear fenders. No rust in bed floor. The only body damage is on the tailgate, which is dented in the middle. They do sell new ones. I dont know how old the paint job is. Not a show job, but shines nice. Has some scratchs here and there. Wheels have been repainted, Tires are old, It think the spare is the orig 1947 tire !!! The interior has a new headliner. Orig cover on the upper seat back, and recovered lower seat, Orig steering wheel, The wipers dont work. Doors open and shut great. Lights all work great”
UPDATE: Price changed to $4000. Kudos to the seller for pointing out important issues.
