About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(09/26/2010) The price needs adjustment, but it looks like it may be a solid project.
“OBO. Vehicle has been garaged for almost 20 years. It is now in our driveway because it came to us through inheritance and we do not have the money to restore it. Email for details on engine, etc.”
This runs and might make a good restoration project.
“ALL ORIGINAL! 4 cylinder L-head, 6 volt electrical, Front PTO winch, It does run, and needs some work. A good project or restoration vehicle. Call with questions (719)395-5553”
While in college, I purchased this Jeep in 1965 from the family that bought the Jeep at the end of WW2 at the Long Beach, CA dock.
The original owner used it on their ranch in Tustin, CA. They added a metal box to the back of the tub and added some height to the windshield frame. Warn Hubs and a tow bar were the only other modifications.
I added a roll bar and seat belts. I used the Jeep for college transportation and trips to the San Bernardo, CA. Mountains. During my time in the Navy, my father drove the Jeep to work daily.
Since the 1970s, we have used the Jeep occasionally on our ranch. My father and son overhauled the motor in the 1980s as a project for my son.
Last year, I pulled it into the shop to check it out. I got the motor running fine, had the starter rebuilt and found that the trans and transfer boxes needed rebuilding due to moisture damage. I installed a new-old-stock transmission that I had acquired sometime back and completely overhauled the transfer gearbox. The flywheel was surfaced. The pressure plate was rebuilt. The clutch plate and associated bearings were replaced.
I replaced the entire brake system, including lines and cylinders, with new parts except the drums, which were resurfaced.
All wheel bearings, u-joints and hub seals are new.
The Jeep is completely original down to the wheels and skid plates except as noted.
I have saved all the old parts.
The jeep runs and drives and has some needs. The charging system is inoperative and the body needs to be refinished.
I started to restore the Jeep for my grandson to drive. After spending the time and effort thus far, I decided that it was too original for my ranch use and really not suitable as a daily driver for my grandson in Southern Ca. traffic. Times have indeed changed.”

I am re-listing this Jeep, price is now lower and includes all parts listed!!!
304 V-8.
77,000 original miles on motor
Jeep is complete, but it is still a project. Needs re-wired, and gas lines/tank re-installed.
Minor rust on body, worst spots are on passenger side rocker guard, and under windshield. Frame has some rust spots, but is not broken or bent. Cab floor is solid, rear of tub has some rust on the inside.
I bought this Jeep as a project; I just purchased a new Jeep Wranger JK. Wife says one too many projects around, this is the last one to go. Buying a house this Spring, don’t want to take Jeep with me. First time seller on Craigslist, if it doesn’t sell on here, will advertise Jeep locally. I have all parts to get this project rolling, (extra solid frame, extra vinyl seats, new fuel lines, diamond plating for rocker guards/windshield).
Jeep will come with a new starter (installed). Please help this Jeep find a good home.
Jeep will have to be towed or trailered.
You can hear Jeep start and run, but wiring is a mess.
First $1,000 CASH takes it!!!
Call or text if you are interested. 304-671-3743”
Looks like it could be solid, but hasn’t run in 3 years.
“Work jeep with soft top. 4 cylinder. Was running when last used about 3 years ago. Snow plow included. Garage kept. NADA average retail value of $10,165.”
UPDATE: This sold at the FC Round up in March 2011.
Kevin is selling his FC-170. He writes, “I have for sale a rust free 1963 FC170. This truck has been hit in the driver’s door, I have pulled out most of dent from the door, it still needs someone to repair the cab door opening and then fit the door. This is an old plumbers truck from California and is rust free, someone has installed a V-8 ford motor I think it is a 289 A real nice installation job It has a 4-speed transmission with 427 gears so it goes down the road real nice the dash has been changed out too not sure why but it looks cool almost factory. This truck runs and drives great I have driven it a number of times with the door off around my area. People tend to look at you funny driving around on the freeway without a driver’s door I’m asking $6200 or best offer. ”
“if your looking for this model, e-mail me. i posting for a friend with no computer skills, can see in person, and go from there. must put {jeep for sale} on return e-mail.”
