About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: I suspect this jeep is on it’s last ride. It’s now a mailbox.
A reader submitted this unusual find. Yes, the seller of this old jeep somehow used it as a mailbox (I think the mailbox is on the back of the jeep), though technically I’d argue the jeep is more of a mailbox pole. While I firmly believe that the jeep has earned the reputation as one of the most modified vehicles in history, the use of a jeep as a mailbox pole is particularly rare.
“Willys jeep. Military, of about 1944. No engine, no trans, no papers, but lots of rust. For a long time I used this old jeep as a mail box; if you buy it, I won’t be getting bills anymore. For $400., you can be sure that your bills will find their way to your door.”
This jeep is ‘almost’ completely restored. For example, there’s no emergency brake.
“for sale — 1946 willys jeep completely restored. 260 miles on rebuilt motor, new body , tires– excellent condition. PLEASE do not offer some ridiculous amount, I won’t respond . Selling for another party.”
“Beautiful 1946 willys jeep cj 2A. New old/new stock all steel body. Original hood, grill, windshields, and tool box. New interior. Run well with no smoke. Not a spec of rust any where. New brakes/ lines, tires, rebuilt carb. This jeep is driven about 100 miles every sunny weekend with no problems. Needs very little to be perfect. More pictures available upon request. 860 227 3854 ”
You are bidding on a 1946 CJ2A VIN # 11425.This willys is registered as a 46 but could be a 45 due to VIn number being so low.Last vin in 45 was 11824 this is 11425 out of 1824 built that first year released to public. This willys is Michigan Yellow with sunset red rims ( no black stripe ) I bought this Willys in December and have driven it around for about 400 miles. I lost my job so now the toy has to go.My lose is your gain.”
Here’s a slatgrille MB out of Wisconsin. It appears in good shape.
“I bought this jeep in 2000 from Houston TX and had it shipped to Wisconsin where I had it restored. I have invested $14,000 into this vehicle but willing to part with it for less…. I am not a jeep expert by any means, but I believe this jeep is largely origional with a few exceptions… It has been upgraded to a 12 volt system, and the windshield is not original. Like a lot of old jeeps, it does drip a few drops of oil after driving, but this jeep looks and drives GREAT! I do not have a top for the jeep. I do not have a title, and this will be sold with a bill of sale only. Please dont hesitate to ask me with any questions you may have.”
It’s got the column shifter and a VIN of 30296 according to the seller. The body looks rough along the edges.
“46 jeep CJ-2a Willys. Early 1946 (SN:30296) with column shift. L head engine in running condition. Needs new Starter. Body in restorable condition. JeeTop aluminum top. Needs brakes. Transmission/transfer case in good condition. Would be an excellent jeep to restore.”
“Willys Jeep Model CJ-2A (Make Year 1948) 4X4 with 4-cylinder Jeep engine and covered top with doors. Runs good, has new battery, good tires, and gun rack. Excellent condition considering the age.”
Given the windshield appears in good shape, I’d say this is a good price for this parts jeep.
‘rebuilt carb, new head gasket, needs distributer and should run. the tub is pretty rusty but other than that it is pretty decent for use off road or parts. Might consider partial trade for a stick welder, oxy-fuel torch or other welding equipment. “
