“48 Willys flatfender jeep. all original except seats. very rust free colo. jeep. still 6 volt. original flathead 4 cyl. runs and drives good rebuilt carb new gas tank. good brakes. Shifts great. has had winter metal cab on most of its life.. so floor and interior great. all guages work. good clean colo title. It needs a new home with someone who wants an original 1948 jeep and will not trash it for a rock crawler or other crap. It has been in the family ranch a long time. So not for sale to just anyone. “Complete frame off restoration was done starting in 2008. New reproduction body was purchased from Willys Overland in Toledo, OH. All drive train components, springs, transmission, engine, etc were either professionally rebuilt and or replaced-all receipts come with purchase. Body and paint work were done by auto body professional in a authentic Luzon Red with harvest yellow rims and accent paint. This vehicle has been driven less than 500 miles since restoration was completed in 2009. I’m regretfully selling this jeep since I have 4 others and I need to part with some of them due family obligations and a major house renovation. It is as stock new as it was it came off the factory floor and is ready for the beach, the mountains, the ranch or the farm.”

(06/16/2018) Column shift 2A that’s never been restored according to the seller.

“1946 Willys column shift CJ2A. This is a survivor and by that I mean it has never been restored, only maintained. This was purchased new by the same family who owned it for 70 years before I bought it. It was used on the families country home in upstate New York for hunting and fishing mostly and always garage kept. It has never been used to plow. Everything works as it should. It still has the generator but everything was converted to 12V long ago. Other things not stock include 2 taillights and directionals.

The top is original or period correct and the jeep was apparently always used with the top on. All the original hardware for the top is there. That said the top is unique as it’s original but it has some rips and the windows are cloudy. There were floor mats throughout that were removed prior to taking the pictures.The jeep starts, runs and sounds great. It will need a new exhaust. One picture shows the gages and the reading warmed up and at an idle. Column shift works well but going to 2nd takes a getting used too. Wooden box between the front seats is a 4 place rifle rack. The ID tags on the body, dash and frame are all present and with matching numbers. The body on this jeep while original has been “kept up on” over the years with body work as needed. Jeep is being sold with a bill of sale and a NH registration.”

A reader alerted me to this one. I am told it was recently listed at $10,000 by the former owner. It’s now listed at $25,000 by someone who appears to believe this is a WWII jeep. Maybe the $25k isn’t a serious price, as the seller is willing to negotiate.

“Body is in perfect condition from late WWII.
Olive drab semi-gloss.
Wheels are properly sized, new tires 700 x 16 NDCC Firestone with new tubes.
All rims have been blasted, primed and painted.

Has correct seats, rear seat is a reproduction with new canvas covers by Beechwood Canvas.
Has new in-the-box summer canvas top by Beechwood canvas (never used).
Brakes all working.
All lights work in regular and blackout modes.
All gauges work, has dash plate with all the original brass data and nomenclature plates.
Has all original top bow brackets and footman loops, has a reproduction new top bow set.
Windshield assembly complete, needs some clips for wiper vacuum hoses.
Original front bumper with wood block still there.
Has the original front tow loops brackets with reproduction loops and pins.
Tow bar included to be used with the front tow loop brackets.
Tailgate with spare tire mount in very good condition.
Battery working and holds charge.
Great special patina.

This has a Rear PTO, governor, Allstate(?) Hubs, Koenig(?) hardtop, and appears in good shape.

“Selling for my friend. This is a Willys CJ3A 4×4 Jeep. He is the 2nd owner, bought it in 1970. Vehicle has been always stored indoors and has been regularly maintained by the owner. It has newer tires. an upgraded front end with M38 parts. Only 21,300 miles, never abused. has rear PTO and comes with the large pully to run the belt driven farm equipment, it still has the leather liner on it! has the governor and pully for the engine. Comes with the hard top and doors.”

“1946 Willys-Overland Jeep CJ-2A
One owner since 1966. Restored in 1975. Stock original survivor. Carefully used and well maintained. Always stored indoors, no rust, no dents.

This Jeep is equipped with a KOENIG “King” power take off winch with an 8,000 pound capacity. It is also fitted with DUALMATIC Locking Hubs, a ROLL BAR and an accessory rear mounted spare tire carrier. There is NO top.

Recent work:
5 new, 6.00-16 NDT tires on original Kelsey Hayes rims with a fresh powder coated finish. Also, all new brake cylinders and DOT 5 fluid, flushed fuel system, tune-up and timing chain. All fresh running gear lubricants installed along with new hoses, belts and fuel pump. Brakes and clutch work well. There are NO windshield wipers. Factory Tech Manual is included.

Compression is strong. Oil pressure is about 25 psi at idle and jumps to 40+ when accelerated. Gauges, lights, horn all work and there are no steering issues. Upholstery on driver and passenger seat are in excellent condition as is the rear seat except for 3 small (3/8″)punctures. This Jeep starts quickly, runs and drives well. It’s a true classic with all the right classic accessories

Here is your chance to have a nice old Jeep with mild patina that you can enjoy and drive. Or, it could be a remarkably straight, rust free, start for you own restoration project.
