About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
It’s too bad this doesn’t run. I like how rough it looks.
“1951 WILLYS JEEP M38 4X4, 24V SYSTEM, MFD. BY WILLYS OVERLAND MOTORS INC., MFR. SERIAL NUMBER 38477, VIN # 451-MC1-38477, DATE 10-51, WILLY JEEP HAS BEEN IN MY GARAGE SINCE 1972, LAST REGISTERED LIS PLATE 1972-1973, LOST TITLE, NEEDS NEW 2-RIMS AND TIRES, FLOOR BOARD NEEDS REPAIR AND SOME BODY REPAIR, JEEP DOES NOT RUN BUT ENGINE WILL TURN OVER WHEN PULLED.”
This has a cool old top. Give this a paint job and it could be a great old jeep.
“For sale 1956 Willys jeep. This jeep has recently had the motor and plow pump rebuilt it runs great. The frame and drive train are in good shape. The body has some rust but for it”s age it”s in pretty good shape. It would make a great cabin or woods truck. $2000 o.b.o call 920-373-0833”
UPDATE: The winning bid was $3600, which surprises me a bit given the rotted tires and top and the dented body.
“1951 Willys Jeep w/ 4 wheel drive. I am told it is a CJ3A ?? This is Barn fresh. Stored away for years!! The body is in good condition. Some dents and dings. Was hit in the left rear quarter at sometime. There is no cancer. The floors are great!! No dents in the tailgate or the floor. Motor is free. Turns over. The gas is old. Tires are dry rotted. This is a great one to restore. This is for pickup only!”
It looks good on the outside, but sounds like it could use a little bit of maintenance. The windshield frame looks bent.
“1947 CJ2A for sale. This jeep is perfect for the deer lease or as a starter for a frame up restoration. It has some needs but it runs great and has had a ton of work done in the past year. It could use some transmission work (pops out of second on occasion), a new exhaust manifold, some gaskets replaced to slow a few leaks, and some metal work on the floor pans but it shouldn’t need anything if you want to use it on the trail or at the deer lease. In the past year, I replaced the intake manifold, distributor cap and wires, rebuilt the starter, rebuilt the generator, replaced the shocks, replaced all of the seat cushions and the back seat frame, put on new brake shoes and replaced brake lines, replaced the brake master cylinder, rewired most of the jeep, replaced the gas tank and fuel hose to the carburetor, stripped off all of the old paint and gave it a garage paint job for protection. It starts right up every time and runs great for a 1947”
Rick asked me to post these pics of his 1955 CJ-5 that he has put up for sale. The VIN is 5754811227. Rick also sent me a couple of rebuilt postal jeeps that I’ll highlight tomorrow.
He wrote, “1955 Willys CJ5 completely restored 2 years ago. Everything is new or rebuilt. All original except seats, and carb & air cleaner. I have the originals and they are perfect condition. Asking $6000.00, or trade for a flat fender in good condition. Trade should be of equal value, or buyer willing to pay difference in value. This Jeep is ready to go. Has tow bar, and 5000 pound winch with in cab controls. Price includes snow blade and bed extension. She is street legal, and will pass state inspections. Call Rick with any questions. Please e-mail pics of possible trades to RandBMfgInc@worldnet.att.net.”
“Jeep 1946 Willys CJ2A. Tub is in fair to moderate condition. Fenders, grill, tailgate in good condition. Windshield frame in moderate condition – there is some rust on the lower portion, but the split glass is intact and the venting mechanism is intact. Frame is in great shape. Transmission shift tower has some slop in it, but internals are fine. Transfer case seems fine. No known issues with the axles. Engine does not currently run, but I imagine it would if it was wired. Engine is not locked, and it has a Supersonic head. Intake and exhaust manifold are new. Starter and generator have been rebuilt. It has new wheel cylinders on the back and new brake drums. Master cylinder needs replaced or rebuilt and brake lines need to be replaced. Seats appear to have been recovered recently with olive canvas. Gas tank and radiator are there and appear to have no holes. Comes with tow bar. I do not have a title. All VIN plates are intact and I will provide a SC Bill of Sale. I am also in the market for a new manufactured 6 X 12 mesh floor trailer that I would consider towards sale.
“1951 willys cj 3a 34,8xx miles runs perfect drives great a wonderful flatfender no signs of damage to the body still 6 volt everything works. this jeep is a very nice original piece it has no extra holes cuts or tears with some minor cosmetics it would be parade or show ready. The underneath of the body is a nice as the top all the floor structure is perfect. there is 3 minor places of rust passenger floor(from heater core leak) l/h side of body at gas tank and at r/h taillight all would be an easy fix. I am the 3rd owner it has always been in eastern wa. It has had 1 repaint (was originally Luzon Red). It also comes with a Koenig 1/2 cab with orignal door panels headliner and hardware back window is broke it was stored in a barn for the last 30 + years. The jeep is brown and the cab is orange.”

Has a massive angle iron piece on the rear for multiple locations of trailer balls. Tires are very old and the left rear has a slow leak goes down in about a week. Does not have the vacuum wipers and the passenger seat needs to be bolted down. Runs Great! Due to it’s vintage age to be SOLD-AS-IS, WHERE-IS WHAT-IS. asking 1800.00 or best offer.”.
