About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(12/12/2010) Here’s a CJ-2A worth a closer look. The windshield also looks a little unusual. Based on the pics at the bottom, I’d guess this was an aftermarket extension (rather than a custom job).
“1946 Willys cj2a Jeep. This Jeep starts runs and can be driven. It is in very good shape for 64 years old. It has a PTO driven winch mounted on the front bumper. The seats have been recovered. it has new fuel lines and a new 6 volt battery. The Jeep has a leak in the brake system.
The jeep came from a cabin in northern Arizona town. It also has some 1950s modifications, that extends the rearend for extra storage. This jeep has a valid Arizona Title and is priced for a quick sale this weekend.”
(09/17/09) This looks more like a MB body. And, it looks like a pretty good price given the winch, rollcage, and overdrive.
“1948 Jeep CJ2A, $3000.00 or Best Offer, 4-cyl F-Head, 3-speed trans w/OD, 8000 # Warn winch w/ remote, Tube bumpers front & rear, Chevrolet tilt wheel, 31 inch tires.”
his sports a fiberglass body with, possibly, a custom windshield with larger glass (it seems like it is bigger than a CJ-3B windshield. Note the unusual windshield clamps.
“1948 Willy’s
Fiberglass body
late model Buick V6 and mid-60’s drivetrain with PTO wench
CD player
alter grip V-tread Goodyear Radials
Rack and pinion steering
banks long tube headers
4 barrell intake carb
hydrolic clutch
dual CNC master cylinders
white in color
with tow bar and hitch
Dealer’s personal toy”
(07/21/2010) That might just be the oddest windshield I’ve seen.
“I have a 1950 Willys Jeep CJ3A. 4 cylinder 4×4 that runs great. Only flaws would just be paint and maybe some tires in the future. Guarantee you this is the best deal on a jeep, come check it out in person”
(04/24/2010) This is a highly customized, nice Jeep. Check out the custom windshield.
“1947 Willys CJ2A. Ford V-6, C-4 automatic transmission, rear dana 44, front dana 30, posi front and rear, 31” TSL thornbirds, power steering, 4 wheel power disk brakes, tilt column, air compressor, welder, spring over, custom windshield, bikini top, full top with full doors, clean title.
This Jeep needs some TLC, not a basket case by any means, but does need a little work. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old that will not allow too much time in the garage. $4500 OBO May be interested in a trade( SUV, Rhino, Ranger, RZR, Cruiser )”
“Need to sell this project to help pay for another. No motor, trans, or transfer case, but you wouldn’t use the stock ones anyways. This does have a full soft top that is in good condition. Saginaw power steering, has been totally rewired and all the guages worked before the motor blew up. Bucket seats with a rear seat that has a built in tool box. Bobcat fiberglass hood for extra carb room. Rancho 5000 shocks, stock axles. Washington title with collector plate. Ready to build into whatever you want it to be. Can deliver if in the area”
Brett found this unusually painted CJ-3A. I can’t tell if this is a well executed canvas of trees and limbs or an arbitrary splashing of paint.
“49 Willyz CJ3A. New engine, and drive train. New super swampers. New suspension with Tera-flex revolvers, front and rear. New Best Top soft top. New seats front and rear. No rust. Jeep is out of California. Excellent condition for age. Jeff 801-647-2280″
(03/21/2010) Includes emergency brake (installed under the front, driver’s-side wheel).
“1948 willys cj2s, needs tranny rebuilt, has a 225 odd fire v6 that run, axels are good, brakes are good, has rust, need restored. I used the tranny out of it for another jeep and no longer need this one so its time to sell. Rebuild or replace the tranny, one front brake hose, and this will drive. I have tranny/transfer case with it, its all there, its all there except the park grake handle ( I never had one ) just need rebuilt and put back in.Top is in ok condition, its all stock except the v6. all the lights work. I have no room to keep this, so it needs a new home.”
While it was cold and rainy, mixed with, gulp, a little snow here in Boise, weather improved out in Ohio for the Midwest Willys Reunion. Both Bob and Brian snapped a variety of images and gave their own perspectives
Bob writes, “Much better weather today in the mid 70s. There looked to be about 100 Jeeps of all sorts today. There were lots of Cj2as and 3as, three CJ3Bs, and lots of truck and wagons. A whole lot to look at! The little Jeep dispatcher [the red jeep a few pics down] was very cool and sold for around $5500. Also, there were lots of parts to be had. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the high 80s.”
Hey Bob, what is sticking out of the side of the yellow flattie? Is it an air cleaner? Is the ‘windshield’ glass or plexiglass?
What’s the color on this flattie, red or orange or a blend? I like the color. Nice dually, too!
This is the DJ-3A that sold. Are these DJ-3A windshields taller than a CJ-3B windshield? Or were they simply re-purposed for the DJ-3A?
I’m assuming that is an aftermarket bumper? I can’t say I’ve seen one of these on any jeeps for sale that I have seen.
Brian seemed to be captivated by the trucks and wagons during this visit. He captured some great pics of Chad’s project (Chad received the Toledo Brick award, something the Reunion staff has been doing for several years now. It’s a brick from the old Jeep plant in Toledo.) and a pic of his favorite at the show, this wagon below (click on the pic to get a much larger pic).
