1955 Wagon Project Yakima, Wa **Status Unknown**

• CATEGORIES: Willys Wagons This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

1955_panelvvan_yakimaUPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $9000.

Here’s an interesting project in which a good chunk of money has already been invested.  I don’t know if the seller will get his money our or not.  The seller mentions this is a rare wagon model.  I’m unsure whether this is true or not.

“Start off with a little history of this rare Jeep Willy’s Panel Wagon. This is a windowless panel wagon with rear delivery doors (sometimes called ambulance doors) that was a special order forest service vechiles. Some of the rarest vehicles to come by now a days. It was once used for a top fuel car in Seattle some years ago About the only thing that’s fit’s the original jeep is the body. The rest is a ground up restoration converting it back to a 4 x 4 with a ton of labor and cash put into it.”

1948 CJ-2A Colorado Springs, Co **SOLD**

1948_cj2a_coloradospringsUPDATE: **SOLD**  Listed at $1400

It runs.  It even stops now.

“I bought this Jeep twenty years ago and rebuilt the engine. Since then I have only used it to plow snow in the driveway. I recently replaced the brake wheel cylinders and two brake lines to get the brakes to work. I used it 20 years without brakes; I never went fast enough that I couldn’t stop by lowering the snow blade. The lights don’t work; I never needed them. I never had it registered on the road. There is still a license plate on it from 1976. I imagine that was the last time it was registered”

1950_cj3a_grantspass2UPDATE:  **SOLD** Was $650

I wonder what the diameter of that rollbar is?  Looks pretty big around.  This might have minimal rust, but somethings been done to the steps.

“No time to rebuild this toy. It is in very good condition with minimal surface rust. Tub in great shape. This is a project vehicle. The last time it ran was a few years ago. It has a F-Head 134 I4 (4 cycle). The oil filter has been modified and the electrical is 12V instead of 6V. I am not going to snow anyone over or waiste their time – the engine could be siezed! Also available = The front bumper is heavy duty with a PTO Wench, however, the PTO on the Jeep has not been installed ****Not included in Price**** …. “

My Build — Engine and Charging System Connections

• CATEGORIES: Biscuit This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE 2: I’ve made a major adjustment to my basic wiring schematic.  This fixed my alternator issues and got my volt meter working correctly.

Major Changes:

  1. I corrected how I wired my Ford Starter Relay (aka Remote Starter Solenoid).  Basically, when the starter button is pushed, it ‘closes’ the connection in the Relay, which ignites the left side of the relay, in turn causing the starter to start the engine.
  2. While my schematic was actually correct, I had mis-wired my Delco 10si alternator because the wiring that came with my wiring harness caused me to mix up the sensing wiring and the field wire.  In my case, the sensing wiring is on the left and wired to the volt meter and the field wire plugs into the right and wired to the battery.
  3. I hadn’t added a power wire to the volt meter side.  I made sure the power wire was only powered up if the power switch was on, to reduce the chances of the batter getting drained.

My Build: The Engine’s Running

• CATEGORIES: Biscuit This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Below is a video that documents the third start of the engine. It’s pretty brief, but I didn’t want to do much more than idle it at that time.

The main issue with getting the engine to work was that I simply had the distributor wires  in the wrong places .. i was off by 180 degrees.  Once I fixed that, it started immediately!  Frankly, I was surprised when it started.  I only swapped the wiring because I saw someone else on the web with a HEI distributor with the wires opposite of what I had done.  Since I was out of ideas, I figured swapping wouldn’t hurt anything and, VIOLA .. it started instantly!

Once I had it started, I had to go back through and fix some of the mistakes in the wiring I had made, including discovering and fixing a key wire that ran underneath the jeep — that was a pain!

Now, most everything works.  One key issue is that the alternator isn’t working.  But, I think I should have that problem solved by tomorrow.

1948 CJ-2A Springfield, Oh eBay

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

I am guessing the year of this jeep based on the serial number and the CJ-2A website production serial numbers.  This jeep includes a Monroe Lift.

“Nice CJ2A Willys Agri-jeep with a Monroe lift. starts and runs good. Monroe lift has been off of the jeep since the mid 1970s. The previous owner used it to run a bush-hog cut fields. Hydraulic hose are dryrotted and needs replaced. Tires and spare in good condition. comes with air cleaner, hydraulic pump (missing rubber bushing), resivor and control valve, PTO belt drive, PTO V belt pully. The body has rust and is not straight at all. Paint less that fair. leaks oil. It needs restored but i don’t have the time to dedicate to this project.”

1954_cj3b_grovelandUPDATE: Was $12,500. **SOLD**

When I first saw it, I thought it was restored to original.  Instead it’s a custom restoration that seems half original and half custom, which I think hurts the value a bit.

Invested $13,500 in the restoration, just looking to get my money back. I have all the receipts. There is only 60 miles on rebuilt engine, original miles unknown, Must See to Appreciate!”

Fiberglass Flatfender Body Clovis, Ca $200

• CATEGORIES: Body Parts This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  I received some pics from the seller.  The holes aren’t all that bad (I’ve dealt with worse), but the right rear wheel well has seen some stress.  I’d have to look at that much more closely. I believe the body is the same as my old jeep, which was a light duty body.  The good news, the area over the transmission looks like it’s hardly been touched.  This is usually cut up.

The windshield is certainly unusual.
